    Argh!!!
    I'm starting this thread in frustration, dissapointment, anger!!. Man, am hating myself to even try their free facial promotion! Oh, the agony!

    Girls, whatever you do. DO NOT STEP INTO NEW YORK SKIN SOLUTION CENTRE!!

    I went there 3 weeks ago to try their facial. Reached there around 6 something. This is what happened.
    1. I waited for 10 minutes for their "consultant" to get ready.
    2. 20 - 25 minutes of skin analysis. Showed some pictures of "problematic" area
    3. Went into a small, compact room for facial from around 7 till 8 plus.
    4. The nightmare started right after they finished the facial "treatment". Was asked to wait in a room where the earlier "consultant" hardsell me to buy their package. Let's call her A. A asked me to sign up to 20 facial "treatment" which cost around 6k. I said I've another package somewhere. She then reduced the supposingly 20 times facial that I needed to 10. Even when I pleaded to go toilet, A wouldn't allow and with that, called another "consultant" to come. Let's call her B
    5. 9 something pm. A and B started their role playing where B was making sinister remarks and all.
    6. 10 something pm. A and B called another to come in. Let just call her C. Three stooges all with united power kept on babbling till I can't take it anymore. I told them I haven't have dinner yet but they just can't stop till I sign in at least 5 facial package or leave down a RM 500 deposits which they claimed can be used to buy products later. Bottom line, they won't let me off until they made sales from me, regardless of how much it is.
    7. 11.10 pm!! I can't take in anymore. I paid 1400 for their 5 times facial with a set of products consist of cleanser, toner, moisturizer.

    I went home tired but thought to myself, maybe..just maybe there would be results afterall.

    A week later, (facial coupled with using their product)

    1st time facial - Had major breakouts on forehead. Skin rough. Uneven tone.

    Another week later (they said I've to follow their schedule which is to have the facial done every 10 days for better result, that's why the consistent "facial pampering" visits)

    2nd time facial - Not only major breakouts, I had red spots all over my face! My pores are enlarged and my skin is rough. My fiance asked me to stop using their products. He said he has never seen so many breakouts on my face before. My colleagues asked why my skin condition worsen recently!! And I can't stand looking at myself in the mirror anymore!!!

    HELP!!!! Am feeling really really low now.

Fyi, I’m fm Singapore and I got to know of Shakura last ye in May thru a local radio station that were promoting Shakura on radio. The radio ad was stating the first few customers to SMS will receive a complimentary session, so I just suka-suka try. In just a few mins, a Shakura representative called me to fix my appt. When I came down to their plc in the western part of S’pore, I couldn’t sense that I was going to be a victim of them soon. It was after the 1hr or 3hr(I couldn’t remember how long I was inside the facial room) “complimentary” treatment that the lady told me I had to pay $3k+ and I said I don’t have that a lot of money. Then she asked whether I hv credit card. Thank goodness I didn’t have one. Then she mentioned $1k if I’m not wrong. Even tho I have the amt with me, I still don’t dare to surrender my hard-earned money. In the end, I could only pay $300 and she mentioned this is for membership fee and 5 sessions. This was the amt that I lost. When I came back home & told my husband about tis he said that I could be cheated by them, and so I called them up to say I do not want to carry the sessions and instead I wanted to have a refund but they claimed they could not do so. Instead all that they can do is to refund me with 3 boxes of Advanced Recovery Cream (which I still keep until now and I don’t know what to do with them, thot of selling them but don’t think ppl want to buy). After almost 1 year long, I reminisced bk about my bad experience at Shakura. To add on, it’s because a few days ago, I heard the same kind of ad fm the same local radio station. I wonder why they are still promoting Shakura and I believe there might be a number of S’porean victims out there like a few of us here. I hope one day sth shud be done. Reply Jae

        ​I was a victim at NYSS too! I went there because of a promotion and signed up for a package and never get to finish my package as I worry about the condition of my skin after I came out from my facial. I have been having facials since a teenager and I know what masks are suitable for me, and when they gave me the cold, hard mask, I knew that there was something wrong and true enough after stepping out of the salon, my face did not become more hydrated instead it became even more dry and I could feel the tightening of the skin. Hence after the second session, I did not return to finish my package as I am afraid I will have to spend even more money to salvage my skin which may be damaged by them and I have heard enough of horror stories of people ended up spending more $$$ to repair the damage which they sustained by visiting them. Maybe you want to consider not visiting them anymore and see a dermatologist for your skin problem before they do further damage to your skin.

            Hi, I guess I am the "new victim". I went on Dec 29th and 4 hours later when i got home, I felt itchy over the face and develop red rashes. I called the service consultant immediately and she said was normal. Asked me to rinse my face and dont't use any product. If rashes still develope, I can come and look for her the next day. the next morning, I wake up and shock to see my face all swollen with rashes and eyes puffy. I couldnt even recognised myself in the mirror. I ran to see a doctor and he told me my skin was reacting to the chemical of the product. thereafter i went to see Shakura and told them about it and demand the refund of my money. She told me it was out of her authority and will arranged the specialist to meet me at 9 o'clock. The next day, face got worsten, I didnt hear anything from them and I went to Shakura again, this time, they told me they cannot locate the specialist as he was in the meeting whole day. When i insist to speak to the specialist, they put me to a company's secretary and told me the specialist is on holiday and defer my appointment till Jan 7th. Can you imagine that such a big company is relying on only 1 specilist to analysis my face condition? and it has to wait till jan 7th???? Is this how an after service to treat a customer who develop skin irritation condition ? I thought immediate advice should be given for emergency.

            My face continue to swell for the next 6 days and i suffer alot for itchiness and pain. I didn't enjoy my new year's eve and new year and I didnt to go to work due to my horrible face and pain. During these time, no one from Shakura care to follow up and care for my skin condition and status.

            I dont't not know what will they say when they see me on Jan 7th.
            I should have check teh background first before I engage them.
            I hope anyone who wants to go for the trial or signing, please think twice.

              Hi all I am a NYSS victim too. I am so angry with their unbelievable poor services and unethical hard selling. Now, I saw this forum and know I am not the only one. I contacted one of NYSS ex- customers who was extremely unhappy with their services, stopped and claimed the rest of unused package money back through CASE or SCT. I would like to call out to all the victims who are unsatisfied with their services, STOP the treatment RIGHT NOW. Contact me and we will claim our money back together. Please contact me at 90400758 or [email protected]. I would like to gather more victims so the sg governmentt will proceed our mass complaint at higher priority.

                I am a New york skin solutions victim too. I am so angry with their unbelievable poor services and unethical hard selling. Now, I saw this forum and know I am not the only one. I contacted one of NYSS ex- customers who was extremely unhappy with their services, stopped and claimed the rest of unused package money back through CASE or SCT.

                I would like to call out to all the victims who are unsatisfied with their services, STOP the treatment RIGHT NOW. Contact me and we will claim our money back together.

                  Recently we received feedback on consumers filling complaints against New york skin solutions. I know that one of the consumer actually reported to CASE. I would like to talk to some of the consumers who filed a complaint and get more details about the case.

                    CONSUMER PROTECTION>
                    An 82 year-old lady was persuaded to part with $400,000 to sign up for slimming packages with London Weight Management, part of the Euro Group which also owns New York Skin Solutions and Yun Nam Hair Care and shakura pigmentation and victoria facelift.
                    After allegedly suffering diarrhoea, a skin rash and pus discharge from the treatments, she filed a lawsuit seeking compensation and refund of some $450,000 from the slimming centre.
                    This is an important case not least because it proffers our Courts the opportunity to set down clear guidance as to (a) what amounts to pressure selling and unconscionable T&Cs, (b) how/when T&Cs ought to be incorporated into consumer contracts as to be enforceable, (c) whether advance payment for un-utilised services can be forfeited, among others.
