Yes, I understand the feeling. Don't worry, if you go there without appointment. Just afraid that if Don/Rick got customer that time, then you won't have enough time to talk to them.

Anyway, since your time is so rush, go to shop and look at those off-the-rack 1st. Then, decide what to do.

Can i say that Ted Wu is like the original shop & Ted Collection is a subset of it?

Is Ted Wu much more expensive than Ted Collection?

    hi vit_c

i dont think they are related...

i believe ted wu is more expensive... but i would say its unique too... just in dec i attended a friend's wedding.. i noted his bride gown was different, unique and nice... and as much as i predicted.. it was ted wu. cost a few Ks.

Vit_C, Ted Wu & Ted collection are different, not related at all. Ted Collection is more famous on Cheongsam, but they do MTM gowns and dress. I signed up a bridal package with them, their workmanship is . Ted Wu's gown is much more expensive.

    Shon,

I am wondering if they are good for men suits as my SO was quoted like $450 just for a new jacket by my bridal company - i mean i rather make a whole suit right - with the same price.

All i know is that Ted Wu's suits are ok aroun $450 onwards. If Ted Collection's men suits are good i am thinking of having my SO's made there.

Also am comtemplating if they have a smaller package - i love the S$2K packaged you mentioned earlier but i dont want to keep the bridal gown - i might only want to keep the tea dress or ROM dress and the evening gown & am considering if i should spend extra $400-600 on each of these to keep them since my bridal studio has already gotten the Tea dress & the evening gown hire in the package.

I was thinking of - wanting something more glam then if i were to hire but the thought of bringing something home is nice too.

My friend actually went into Max Mara & got this $500 deep red dress which was not too bad for the dinner change of dress. which i though would be nice too - i mean when do i have the chance to get such a dress? but i dont have the figure to buy off the shelf too i am afraid.

I know i sound rather confused - i am! my wedding's Dec 05 - i am scuttering like a fat duck with bridal fever. But i have no rush in a sense - just giving myself pressure to plan the clothes quickily within 1-2 months to settle my SO's suit & if i want that extra dress.

Hi, Vit_C. So do you mean that you had signed up with other bridal shop but would like to MTM another 1 - 2 gowns in TC? Lot of brides did that because they felt cheated by some bridal shops.

Is the S$450 mensuit only for jacket? no pant ? If only jacket, then it is too expensive to pay for it.

For TC, they charge S$450 too for mensuit - jacket + pant, S$600 with vest. My bf actually MTM his suit in TC because easier to pair with my gowns and their recent mensuit workmanship had improved. I just went for my 1st fitting last Saturday. Bf had tried his jacket & pant, vest later. I can see MTM mensuit fits better to bf comparing to those he bought from G2000. So this is different of MTM and off-the-rack.

For the S$2k package, you don't have to MTM all bridal gowns. You can do it this way: 1 mensuit + 1 EG + 1 CS or 1 mensuit + 1 EG/CS + 1 your mum / your sis's gown. That's up to you to decide. If you only MTM 1 piece, it costs more than you sign up the package. So you can consider to take the S$2k, if you have budget on that. I think it is quite a good deal if you take the package for your SO's mensuit + 2 your own gowns. You will have more gowns to keep in the end. Yes, if your actual day is less than a year when signing up the package, they will charge you S$200 - S$500 more. However, if slightly less than a year, can talk to TC, see whether they are willingly to offer S$2k or not.

You are right if you got figure, then you can buy off-the-rack gowns. However, it is not easy to find most of the times. Like me, I am short, the length for most of the gowns are too long for me. So, MTM is ideal choice for me. I don't have to shop and panic if I can't find any good one.

So there is still some differences if you MTM your gown, at least you will have gowns that fit you perfectly. On your actual day, you are the star, you should wear something will stand you out rather than only look good.

    HTHs.

    1 mensuit + 1 EG + 1 CS or 1 mensuit + 1 EG/CS + 1 your mum / your sis's gown you said

so its 2 Evening gowns fro the bride one for someone else
1 Cheong Sam & one mensuit

its 5 things in total - I will consider yes!

Because my SO is already going to fork out
    his suit $450
His mum's tailored dress $250-300 (average simple designs)
My mum's dress $250-300 (average simple deisgns)
    That's already$1050.

I can get another Men's suit for his father & one evening Gown or cheong Sam for me. But my father will get jealoused. OMG.

Maybe i get them to do both our father's suits & one CS or EG - pay for the cheapest one's difference as I already lugi as i think making the bride's CS & EG takes more work than men suits & mother's EGs.

I will talk to my SO tonight!

    Mother's dresses $300*2 = $600
    dad's suits $900 for 2
    his suit $450
we are already spending $1950 here, best to get everyone's done under one roof with good taste!

Vit_C, I don't understand what do you mean 5 things in total. Anyway, just explain again:$S2K is for 3 pieces. Normally, people do this way:
    1. 1 WG + 1 EG + 1 CS
    2. 1 mensuit + 1 EG + 1 CS
    3. 1 mensuit + 1 EG or CS + 1 your mum or your sis's gown

So total is still 3 pieces. Not sure whether it is ok to take 2 mensuits and 1 gown. You better talk to TC because I am not their agent ah.... difficult to answer that. Anyway, you can make an appointment to meet them. You can check out from the photos given by the customers. All gowns in the photos were MTM by TC.

Look like you and your SO had spent quite a lot already?

no not much yet - will start finding the tailor soon.

ops i was confused 3 pcs for $2K ouch abit steep - stick to Evening Gown or CS, suit & somthing else then. only worth it if the bridal gown was thrown in.

will think it over. want to save $$ too.

Ted Collection is $2700 for 3 pcs, WG to rent, EG and Tea Dress to keep.

If u only want a MTM WG, please make an appt and visit them, because the cost will really depend on your overall design and details.
