Hi wenniee.. that's my pic - posted it on my FB. I wore that tee during my gf's wedding day.

The words are ironed on - bought online from ebay but the seller is no longer selling.
The tank top is bought from Uniqlo.

I'm getting bridesmaids gown from the Bridal Studio for my jiemeis. They need to come for the fitting and then adjustments and then second time again for the fitting. I also need them there for one helpers' briefing night.

One of my jiemeis commented that "how come it's so troublesome, must meet up so many times". I feel kind of hurt. I thought it's a nice gesture to provide the gowns (plus I also provide makeup) for them, which of course meant extra cost on me.

May I know how many times is considered okay and reasonable to meet up with your helpers and jiemeis?

I faced the same problems as you.

Some jiemeis complaint the colour they had to wear, complaint so early to come to my house on AD, complaint they need to go hotel early for make up (i provided the MUAs) but later complaint the MUAs didn't do a good job.

It was really hurting. My wedding is over. Try to enjoy your happy moments as much as possible ya?

citrella, in my sister's case, the jiemeis went together to decide on the design of the gown and take measurements. subsequent fittings the jiemeis went separately as and when they can make it. and before the AD, that's one briefing on the duties of each jiemei.

two meetings in total. anw, i think for your case, it's rather reasonable too.

I think the number of meetings is rather reasonable, they shouldnt be saying such things when u so generously provided for all that.
As for the makeup artist being bad and the colour choice, they could discreetly correct the makeup themselves instead of alarming the bride and tho i can understand some colours being too outlandish for example lime green is flattering only on very few people, i think they should try to be more thoughtful and considerate of the feelings of the bride.It is her big day. But whatever it is, you should brush off these small matters on your big day. Smile and be happy!

For gold theme, I personally think this dress might complement - Gabrielle Greek Goddess Dress – $40 « MyLitteBlogShop.Com It can also be worn for work, so you dont have to worry about spending money on a dress that can only be worn for dinner/party.

As for duties of the Jie Mei, it usually revolves around co-ordination work such as:
- Planning Gate Crashing activities
- Organize the tea ceremony such as setup/prepare the tea, cups, teapot
- Organize the reception table for the lunch/dinner, tell the guests their seats, give out carpark coupons, collect ang pao, etc
- Organize the photo-taking session at the dinner

One of the Jie Mei might have to take on additional work somewhat like a PA to the bride to help bride with her dress/touch-up her makeup and hair/ carry her bag, water, etc

From experience, i feel it's a real hassle and expensive thing to do to customize bridesmaid dresses. I definitely suggest buying off the rack dresses for a fuss free and save money experience!
