Any brides DIYing all or part of their wedding?

I'm doing a seperate reception for my solemnization and while waiting for more than a week for a quote from this florist.
I decided to do up the reception table centerpieces myself.

Now, I have the idea and design in mind. Have also been shopping for the raw materials. Since I'll have 100 guests max and 10 tables. 10 centerpieces is feasible.

Then I had this crazy idea to do up the rest of the decor and even my own bridal bouquet myself. Probably might just end up renting a floral arch since I doubt I can ever make one.

So just wondering if any brides out there also DIYing?

I've seen DIY ring pillows, corsages etc.

I'm intending to DIY my solemnization seats tie-back next.
Where can we get cheap crafts/materials?

I find Spotlight alittle pricey.
My friend recommended Arab St.

I'm also getting ideas off martha stewards' website.

yes prepared the cakes 1 day before the photoshoot.. after that fed it to my BS staffs.

oh, i actually had that crazy idea to do a ring bowl. instead of the standard ring pillow i thought of making a ring bowl, and then in future can leave it at home as a place to put our (me and my bf's) rings together when we put on/take off everyday...

i thought of buying a bowl and maybe decor with our wedding date/logo. however i still haven't come across a nice bowl / plate...

i had wanted a cake pillow on my ROM but didn't managed to do it that time. I think cause i talked about it to my co-o.. my PG had our rings placed on the cake during PS.

heh, U girls should see how the AngMos DIY their wedding. they are BIG on DIY-ing over at the states.
some even sew their own wedding gown. (OMG!)

For me, I tried my best. haa

My bridal Bouquet.
its a pearl and crystal one.
(i though fresh flowers are so boring and common. pardon!)

my BirdCage Veil.
Tried as I might, i CANT seem to find one in singapore.. So I made one myself ^^ I wore this during the reciep time. together with my mermaid gown, for that vintage look.

I think its not very clear from this picture, but its same as my PearlCrystal Bouquet. but i replaced the Crystals with Diamontes..


I DIY-ed a bunch of other stuff as well, such as afew series of my Prewedding, I designed and print my wedding album myself etc.. what else.. my angbao box, our childhood montage...
Im a alacarte bride, in case ur wondering. no with any BS.

hahaha yah ***. u excuses.. time is created by ownself! I made my crystal bouquet while watching Tv~ (i spent abt a month doing.. since i watch tv every few day only). LOL

I sold all my handmade things on sgbrides forum already.. enough to cover cost (and even made alittle).. so those things were pratically "free" for me! yipee.! so girls, please DIY your bridal stuff..! makes your wedding more meaningful and fun!
