I need some opinions here, ladies. I'm now narrowing my ROM buffet lunch to Conrad or Ritz.
Conrad has a special meaning for my SO and me and service is great but I've never tried their buffet before. I've read mixed reviews on Conrad's food quality.
Ritz is ok, service not as warm as Conrad and the last time I had a buffet there, the food was absolutely horrendeous.
The thing is Ritz's package seems more worth it. Their buffet lunch only cost $5 more per pax. And their ROM package comes with decos, aisle for marching in, flowers and a suite with breakfast.
Whereas I still have to pay for Conrad's suite. I haven't tried negotiating with them, heard that Conrad is tough to negotiate with.
Should I go for value-for-money (Ritz) or go for the hotel that holds special memories (Conrad)?
Try talking to Conrad...times are bad.
You can also perhaps share your memories and reasons with them as to why you want to hold it at their hotel if it's not too personal.
If they value customer loyalty, it will be an extra incentive for them to want to make it special for you.
i think you can try bargaining with Conrad first, only if it fails then go for Ritz.
After all I assume your top choice should be Conrad since it has special memories...so why not just try your luck with them first?
Depending on your co-ordinator, you might just get what you want.![]()
Conrad definitely for the memories.![]()
since you already have the pricing from Ritz, why not try Conrad's buffet & start negotiating with them. see if they'll be able to tip the balance for you.
like lianyi said, times are bad. maybe they're willing to give way.
Ok, just spoken to both Conrad and Ritz...both are non-negotiable. Sheesh..oh well...
I like Conrad's pool side room but my friend commented that it will be hot due to the reflection from the pool. Ritz isn't too bad and came with flowers/deco. But Conrad seems to come with minimal flowers/deco; I probably have to pay a bit for more deco.
I'm absolutely torn now. And my parents said that people usually give less ang pows for lunch and if it's at Conrad, they may perceive it to be cheap and give even less. Bearing in mind the cost between Conrad & Ritz is only $5. I'm not looking to make a profit or even to break even, I just hope to be at least able to cover half the cost.
since u like conrad's pool, u should go take a look at it in the afternoon (if u feel hot). take a visit to Ritz n Conrad, meet ur potential coordinator (very important that u can click with him/her - my opinion), if possible, look at the actual setup of someone else's ROM/luncheon.. gives u a clearer picture.. then follow ur heart~
conrad isn't really cheaper.. its really on par with the rest of the hotels in that area..
i had 2 wedding party, lunch for friends, dinner for close friends n relatives.. surprisely the bigger loss was from dinner instead of lunch..
i think ritz carlton wins hands down for the food. conrad's food has always been average. if you're looking to cover cost, then maybe you can pick ritz carlton. it's a sure thing that people will normally give a bigger red packet when they read "ritz carlton"..just my humble opinion ***...
Hi,
i'm holding my solemnisation in ritz carlton this may.. so far its been great liaising with the coordinators. like what you said, the package is really appealing with free night stay in a premier suite, complimentary parking, invitation cards and decor etc. the chihuly room is big enough to have both theatre sitting for the ceremony with round tables for the tea reception (i have only 65guests) but the big draw is the menu. The long list of food looks very tantalising and we can change items that we don't like.
so far i'm still very glad i chose ritz. hope this helps.
My SIL hold her wedding lunch at Ritz Carlton, lotsa of good reviews on food. If the price difference is so minimum i suggest you go for RC.
Yeah, my SO also thinks Ritz's menu looks better. But he tried the buffet there before and wasn't impressed by it. We haven't tried Conrad's buffet but did tried their ala-carte items at Oscar's and it was really good. Think we gotta go down and do some tasting.
Thanks everyone for your contributions. I have a clearer mind now.
Em, we r considering to hold our ROM solemnisation in RC also, would u like to share their package? Mine day should at 20thSep. Cheers! lvbblv@gmail.com
