ya...marriage is blissful...that is more important than anything in the world!!!

so what if you have a huge ring and a very grand wedding, when in the end, the marriage cannot last more than 2 years...no point right...

i got a 2k+ ring from my SO from an online vendor...which is like 70% of my SO's salary. but the main thing is that he put in a lot of effort to find the perfect diamond and setting for me, researching a lot of sites and the cutting of the diamond to ensure the best scintillating and spread of the diamond.

i think that itself shows that he is very sincere!!

For wedding rings: we looked at our wedding budget and decided that 2.5k was a reasonable price for both rings. first few rings that i looked at nearly blew the budget for one ring alone! haahah.. in the end settled for love & co's half eternity ring and a platinium ring for him. in the end, his ring is more ex than mine! All in all, we spent 2.7k on our rings.. blew budget slightly.

we also realised that we are willing to change our wedding bands every 5 years (Vows renewal or anniversary present)so we do not want to spend too much on the first pair. also realised that our fingers might change size so wearing the rings forever would not be too possible anyway.
but first set of rings are usually the most memorable ones... aren't they? i can't bear to part with the first wedding band. it is the first afterall.

    HI Green Tea,
Different couples have different thinking i guess
Of course the first ring is the most important one, but as time passes, when you become pregnant or old or fatter, bear in mind the ring might not fit you anymore.
Anyway, i have a few friends who do not wear their wedding rings anymore.
Even my parents dun wear the ring anymore.. really depends on the couple i guess
I will of course keep the first ring...

opps. =/ i told my boyfriend i wanted at least a 0.66 because i really like diamonds and i will wear it all my life. in the end he bought me a 0.78 but we didnt go for a branded e-ring but a quality diamond set in platinum so i can wear it for many many years

i would not love him any less but it's a nice gesture that he bought me what i wanted and then more and i think it's cos our circle of friends tend to buy bigger e-rings so there is unfortunately a slight pressure to keep up. oh wells. the banes of societal pressures.

LOL I agree! My SO bought the diamond online and he researched for more than 2 months for the 4Cs etc before he got the 0.53 carat.

He then got my ring size while I was asleep and got his friend's dad who is a jeweller to set it for him!

    All these without me knowing!

We got our bands from e-Clarity. Spend less than $2k but customised according to what we want.

    Love my rings!

Woowww.... so sweet of him. My bf is more straight forward. As I always very particular about something. He scares the design he chooses, i won't like it. So he brought me down to together. Hahaha...

Actually i dont mind how big the diamond is... but the design must be special... so i'm willing to pay for the design... say 5k? still ok.

We spent $1k+ on wedding bands. I will choose a cheaper ring if I gonna wear it on daily basis. So I will have the excuse to upgrade the bands every 5 years. Haha.

    Default all yourself

yeah, It all depends on your personal preferences. if you can afford much, you would need an expensive ring, then by all means buy a cheaper one.

my HTB bought the engagement ring 0.77K VS1, Love & Arrow Cut for $5k, over my estimation, it's a good buy as other party value it at $7k, recommended by www.diamond-o.com , love it !

gonna spend less on wedding band...
