heh, i agree!Originally posted by vixette
cos michannat is more PHWOAR and wheeeewheeeeeeet than maggie cheung!
the boutique at bugis junction (ted wu?) does some funky interpretations of the traditional cheongsam too. my friend got one made there for her ROM ceremony and it was WOW!
maybe go sneak in and have a look see?Mich is really sweet and gorgeous...
you'll look fantastic in a cheongsam dear!
and Char, your recommendation sounds promising.yet another reason to pop by Bugis! would be giving Pan's rec a miss since it sounds wayyyyyyyyyy beyond my budget.
OMG OMG OMG! Pan, tt's the cheongsam i want!!!![]()
i would love to lay my hands on a copy... can't afford the real thing!! the more i look at it, the more i like!!![]()
1. would you go for sleeveless, cap sleeve or 3/4?
cap sleeve definitely.
2. long/short?
long. slightly below the knees, maybe stop at the calf.
3. actually, i might just go for a cheongsam top instead. top or dress?
i want a dress!!! which i can wear with jeans... cool~~~ i like!!but of coz the cutting might need to change abit, like mayb the side cutting will raise higher to above waist.

4. footwear to match?
for sure one thing is that i'll never wear the cheongsam out without my boot-cut jeans, i'll look like a waitress!! so boots will be my choice of footwear, or mayb a nice canvas shoes or trackshoes. plus some accessories, slingbag and hair twisted up, and i m ready to go!!!![]()
Was at guess boutique Taka yesterday after i went to MNG..
There's a very very lovely deep purple cheongsam on display.. Had to go in and take a look! Totally gorgeous, with cap sleeves.
The price tag = $225
Non-sale item...![]()
gosh... got to go see. went to see doreen yesterday. but she didn't have many samples for me to view. saw a sheer one which she wears with a slip underneath. she's off to shanghai today to collect more fabric samples. sent her the pic of the blumarine cheongsam. that's super gorgeous.![]()
Oh yeah, the black Blumarine cheongsam is wonderful because it's A-line at the bottom...so much more flirty and easy to move around in....plus more forgiving if you've got a pear shape like me....![]()
Mich, let us know how it goes with your dressmaker (huh, sounds like the Keymaker in Matrix... )...if she's good, I wanna do a copy of the Blumarine cheongsam too! The real thing is beyond my budget.
hi pan, what pear shape?![]()
will definitely let you know if it's possible to get the blumarine cheongsam done. i just hope the workmanship is good.
hey mich, how's the cheongsam coming along?
hi girl, my cheongsam lady went to shanghai to scout for more fabric samples. have sent her the pic of the blumarine cheongsam. i hope she'll be able to do a replica. *keeping fingers and eyes crossed*![]()
good luck!!i hope it turns out well...
