Karen, I like Fullerton too..love the ambience and I was deciding between Fullerton and Ritz but I had chose the later because I needed a bigger ballroom...Originally posted by kare2711
Yah, it was love at first sight with Fullerton. We were banquet room-shopping until we came to Fullerton. The moment I saw it, I knew I wanted my wedding there. Initially SO didn't want it because of the price, but he relented *phew*! Even thinking back can bring back tears of happiness for me. That's what Fullerton can do to me. Sigh, sigh.![]()

Oooh but I think where Chinese restaurants are concerned, Ritz Carlton's Summer Pavilion's food beats Fullerton's Jade hands down!Originally posted by meow123

I had my ROM in a country club, overlooking the greens, under a huge pavillion, with 50 of our closest family members. We wrote our own vows and decorate the whole place ourselves the night before... It was truly a memorable day for me.Originally posted by Vonnie
Yup, solemnisation on the beach under a white marquee.... Hmmmm.....
Not strange at allIt is always nice to think and dream about what the two of you want to achieve together.... Marriage preparations is just the very first step

And yes Vonnie, agree with you... it's the next 30-50 yrs that make up your marriage, not your wedding. Your wedding memories will be with you forever if your marriage is a strong and fufilling one.![]()
I wish all the brides-to-be here in CC a blissful marriage. Marriage is not a destination... it is a journey, so enjoy your journey!![]()
P.s: Strongly encourage soon-to-wed couples to attend marriage prep courses.
Oh yes couldn't agree better....I love the fried green tea ice creamOriginally posted by kare2711

Haha... I decided to do this after hearing horror stories about people's wedding album being soiled by dirty, greasy hands!Originally posted by duckiee

Decided to keep my album at home instead
Joce, I wanted to say wedding preparations actuallyBut yup, it is definitely the life after wedding that is the most significant. I remember basking in an indescribable blissful feeling for a long time after the wedding proper

Attended a friend's wedding at Swissotel and i like the 'prelude' to the dinnerthey had a small area for reception and the decor could be decided by the couple themselves, so they placed rose petals and some of their wedding photos framed up in nice photo frames on the glass tables...there were lighted candles around too...very nice and romantic

The whole ballroom was huge and the 'aisle' where the couple had to walk down was sooo long and spacious, they looked like they stepped out of a fairytale![]()
i think a really creative way to walk-in would be to do a waltz, how romantic...*sighs dreamily*
I had my dinner at fullerton too. I must say that the staff there are great!!! They are very professional and everything went smoothly. We didn't really have to worry about a thing during the dinner except to soak up the ambience.I luv the ballroom!!! The chandeliers (if thats they are called) are amazing!!! I can still remember the feeling of sitting under them, looking up thinking that I am under beautiful night sky with millions of stars. If I were to choose again, fullerton is still my number one choice.

My hubby and I let our parents decide everything re: the wedding banquet. It was held at Sin Leong Restaurant (now known as Roland's because Sin Leong let his godson Roland take over the eatery) and according to the guests, the food was excellent.I didn't know of course because I barely ate - I had to take pics with the tables and would you believe it, we had close to 70 tables!
My dad has many friends/relatives
But the most memorable thing has to be the fact that PM Goh actually attended my wedding dinner - my dad has been active in the RC since moving to Marine Parade in the 70s and I suppose the PM recognised thisOur guest of honour was very gracious and kind too. We were very touched by his attendance. And yes, his bodyguards with the wires were conspicuously there too!
Funny thing was, his presence sort of stole the limelight from my hubby & I (fine with us) - everyone wanted to get close to our g-o-h
Hmm, maybe he was the reason the food was so fab, huh?![]()
Awww....Mag you are so lucky. THat is definitely something to remember...YOu have PM Goh as your guest![]()
Wow Mag, yeah that's something that you will remember forever...
I am still looking for my venue. Will be having a small dinner, say 25 - 28 tables. So far been to Rasa Sentosa, Hilton & Orchard Mandarin (for dinner), Hyatt, M Hotel, Conrad, Fullerton...
Really like Conrad and Fullerton's service but cannot meet their minimum table's requirement. No Four Seasons for me as SO's brother had his wedding there.
Plssssease, any good recommendation for a Chinese sit-down dinner?? So far, SO likes Hyatt Hotel best. Any comments on Hyatt?
Mine was at the Grand Hyatt, Queenie. I like it. The Banquet manager was good- very professional. Think I still have the contact somewhere.![]()
Hyatt has many ballrooms to cater to different capacity. Worth to check out....Or Pan Pac? Goodwood Park? Swissotel?
If you don't mind chinese restaurant, Chinos Chinos at Orchard Parade is good...good food![]()
Yup.. the food at Chinos Chinos is good. The cooking's not exactly Chinese though. Shall we say Fusion?Originally posted by meow123
