service was terrible too. The person who picked up my call said that he was too busy to show us the ballroom. And that we can just walk into the ballroom if we so wish. So I went down and was told by the service counter that they cannot open the ballroom for us.
So, we made a wasted trip and went away fuming. On a positive note, thank goodness this did not happen on our wedding day. |

Really? That's a disappointment. I thought it looked like such a pretty hotel and thought of calling them to see about a wedding there. I dunno if Min Jiang is part of it or not, but I got a quote from them, sadly, way over my intended budget.

I love Goodwood Park hotel's ambience and exterior designs. Their ballrooms are very beautiful too. However, their banquet sales staff are not very accommodating. They are definitely not customer-oriented and pride themselves very much as a 5-Star quality hotel.
I'm still contemplating among Traders, Goodwood Park or Plaza ParkRoyal to hold my wedding lunch. For a once in a lifetime experience, I don't mind having it at Goodwood Park as long the staff did what we expect them to do. |

Attended my colleague wedding last december.
Food was great!!! Every single food that was out was simply nice I read about the rant for food several posts before. Was it because of the selection itself? |

I think the reason is that different people have different tastes and different expectations. and also many variable factors like the mood of the chefs/service staff and mamagement staff on that day.... bad mood= bad service. |

I've had different experiences with GWP. Felicia attended to us, it was easy getting an appointment with her and she was very patient in explaining the items in the banquet to us. Couldn't get any extra perks from her; I gather that that's the general case for GWP. E.g., no free flow of beer (only 1 20L barrel provided), no free helper's room ($180+++ for daytime use), no extra night's stay at the suite. But rooms will be available for guets at $220 +++ per night for normal stay, breakfast included.
Felicia brought us to the ballroom & answered our questions adequately. Food for the banquet is from Min Jiang - but as Felicia pointed out, when food is cooked in large quantities it's hard to expect the Min Jiang restaurant standard. I'm fine with the explanation. I'll probably be booking my banquet with them! |

Most feedback at a popular Sg wedding forum seem very negative.
I was pretty keen on GWP but decided maybe I shouldn't take the risk. Seems that there are more misses than hits.

I heard good reviews from my colleagues about GWP though. Am very keen on GWP. Wedding planner whom I met was Jasmine, pretty accomodating and friendly... The manager, Esther was alright too. Hmmm. Now contemplating after reading this.... haaaa.
Their prices are alright though... slightly cheaper than the Four Seasons that I've seen |
