Any idea what kind of gift for a good friend for her wedding? She gave me a beautiful Precious Moment cross-stich for mine. I can't sew for nuts. Heeheehee...
Perhaps something to decorate her home with? A beautiful artwork or pottery piece?
Or you could buy her a voucher for a spa treatment so the couple can go pamper themselves? Similar ideas would be vouchers for their favourite restuarants and if you really run out of ideas, vouchers for their favourite departmental store!
Otherwise, do you know what your friend likes? You could always get her something for her hobby, or help them pick up a hobby both of them can try.
I once made a beautiful Precious Moment cross-stitch for someone's wedding too. My sis and I took turns to complete it and it was no easy task. According to my sis, our cross stitch is still on this person's bedroom wall and it has been more than 10 years!
If you want to give her something money cannot buy, why not take a very beautiful picture of the wedding couple on the wedding day, blow it up and give it to them in a beautiful frame. I love photography so this is something I will do. When I got married, my boss did this for me, he didn't frame it up and he gave the picture not to me but my dad. My parents are so happy and its on the wall of my old room at my parents place. Another friend who is an art director gave us an album of arty pictures of my church wedding and honestly its one of my favourite gift.
Or you can buy a really nice silver accessory and engraved it with a nice verse on love. This will let her know how much her friendship means to you and how happy you are for her on her marriage.
Thanks girls for your suggestions.
ataraxia, I wanted to give her something that she can keep , like the way I can keep her present to me...
*scratch head*
naughty girl, your suggestions are very good. Let me churn my brains later.
Thank you all!
How about a Precious Moments figurine? Or take one of their pictures and make it into a canvas drawing or some carvings. I think there are alot of kiosks doing things like that.

hi there, my sis is getting married this dec n i dunno what to give her. she has stated that she doesn't want spa vouchers (which i was considering).
do u have any suggestions or what kinda gifts have u recievec that u hold dearly?
will money be appropriate? how much will be appropritae. i m at a lost!![]()
Jewellery? Just before the wedding I was in Osaka, so I bought a pair of akoya pearl studs for her.
if you are willing to spend - jewellery. But i reckon $200 can buy nothing much at the local Jewellers. But i did get a bracelet in white gold before for a close friend -a few of us chipped in.
My best friend - I gave her Ang Pao & helped her out the few days before the wedding with all her preparations. We did the shopping for bridesmaids clothes together too. Was very poor then - or i would have give more than just my time.
Since I usually give my time to help out. Most of my close friends needed cash so i just gave them an Ang Pao slightly bigger than the norm.
But its kind of boring right? should be something to keep. knit a scarf if they are going somewhere cold for their honey moon? Knitting is faster then cross stitch.
What would be a nice gift for a friend's wedding?
I can't make it for her wedding dinner but i am thinking of sending her a gift delivery as a token.
Jewellery are out i think... we are former classmates but nothing too close.![]()
i'm intending to give a cartoonistic portrait to my bf's sis for her wedding.... but i found out it costs ard $150-$190 with background but without framing.... I'm still deciding.....
after googling high and low... i've found this link... http://iportraitstudio.com/
Oh man..I'm feeling that the wedding gift that I had made, was quite cheap-o after reading this thread...
