Hi all BTB,
I would like to find out what sort of accessories do u gals use for ROM / Wedding. I am sourcing for necklaces / chokers etc. for my coming ROM in June.
Thanks.![]()

I think diamond, pearls or crystal accessories are quite popular for ROM & weddings.. The type of necklace also depends on the neckline and cutting of your gown as well...
for $$ mileage look at Chomel's pearls - try all the sizes & colours of the pearls - bring your SO or someone who has seen you in that dress with great/good taste to help you decide.
Also crystals (sworski is the more expensive though) can be more glam than real ones - as for real ones you have to spend quite alot for the same sizable pc of jewellery. Some other brands the one i got was from MAE - this really nice & "big look" necklace for my wedding - they have some simplier & some more "bigger looking" all elegant designs too for about $50 onwards the pc i got was white gold, sworski crystals about $200 takashimaya dept store, the counter is near chomel by the window glass. As similar slightly more glamourious Sworski branded one was selling for about $600+. their earrings (chomels' also) start abtou $20 onwards - but try not to buy too much excess as wedding & ROM shopping sometimes can add up to alot. I had a simple dangling pearls earrings for my ROM with my Chomel slightly pink non-round shaped small pearls necklace ($80) & a similar earrings ($20), the MAE one i got 2 different designs to match the necklace i got - i think each abotu $15-20.
As for diamonds -start shopping early & just visit every shop in town till you find something suitable -dont jump at the 1st pretty one - unless you are willing for forgo looking at the rest.
I think for ROM simplicity works for everyone especially if you are young.

[IMG]I will still prefer pearls after a long search for accessories. Fiance (actually *** does SO stands for?) thinks pearls suits me better too. Actually, I already had a pink cultured pearls (not too round type) from chomel, it's a single strand with all the pearls in standard size...my gown is a tube dress (with a slightly curvy design). Most probably will be getting another pearl necklace from chomel, will be choosing the shell pearls instead (the really rounds ones), will be taking the white ones, with alternate different sized pearls in a single strand. Below is a close similar of the gown I am getting except that I added lace at the bottom. Also, a picture of a pearl choker which I find is nice too.![]()

it's entirely up to you...
I love big stuff with lots of detail. So this is what i'll be wearing...
I DIY. So it's much cheaper. I love pearls and swarovski. So i combined both.

check them out
Verene, the pearl chocker is really pretty!!! I went through the website, think the one you put up is the nicest!!
Hi bei bei,
I really like the choker too, but, I think that choker cant be so vesatile as the usual single strand pearl necklace. cant be wore out for normal days like for work etc...
Hi,
any idea where we can get customise accessories???
Thankfully my mum was willing to lend me her pearls. She got it as a wedding present from a Japanese friend when she got married. Those pearls are one of the nicest pearls I have seen and it totally matches my gown.![]()
Good for you... i had to make my own... but at least i know, there won't be anyone wearing the same stuff as me.
I did this out of fun last night using some of mu mum's leftover pearls... I would probably use this as a tiara on my ROM, this is only initial stage...![]()
