Was told by a friend that she secretly got married at a little temple in Japan last month, in traditional kimono. Even her parents doesn't know.
She says that she and her BF (now Hubby) flew to Japan over a weekend for the ceremony?
It sounds incredulous to me! Is this logical? Is she considered married in Singapore?![]()
no, she is not considered married in the eyes of law in sg.
I don't understand your friend's motive in getting married secretly. No one in her family even knows she's married, so what's the point? It's kind of disrespectful to the parents, IMO.![]()
Your friend has to convert the marriage cert at sg ROM to make it valid in sg.
wow this sounds so fairytale. Are they trying to elope or something?
I think she's lying... that's why I am asking you girls, just in case I am the ignorant one.
"Apparently" it was just a weekend affair in January. Her so-called BF bought a ticket for her to Japan and asked her to meet at Sapporo Airport, and then they got married in a temple. They came back the following Monday.
I'd feel "cheapen" by it if it happened to me!![]()
hmm..i think the parents will be saddened to hear this if they found out the truth..
very disrespectful...
allan wu and wong lilin married in las vegas..
when they returned to sg, i am not sure if they convert their cert to make it valid in sg.

Although deciding to get married is something personal, but what's the point when the people closest to her can't give their blessings. Just.
Unless she's planning to elope.
