Engagement Ceremony

Hi ladies, just wanna know if anyone had their engagement ceremony before they hold their ROM or customary?

I know during our parents era, engagement ceremonies seem to be a must but our generation doesn't seem to have this practice anymore. Nowadays, it is more prevalent to hold ROM ceremony then customary wedding (or both at the same time).

I had planned for a engagement before but halfway something happen so it didn't went ahead. It is not common now and reason I had agreed to it coz I was not sure of it and in order to give the other party the assurance, well we planned.
