The other marriage prep course that you can attend if you want to get married in a catholic church is Engaged Encounter, which is also run by the catholic church. Its a one weekend thing (Fri night to Sun morning). That's what we went for and we both found it worthwhile (even though we probably wouldn't have gone if the church had not required it).

AhCapp, its not at all about telling you how to live a married life. Rather, we are set exercises and discussion topics on things like money, children, values, parents and you just spend alot of time with you SO talking through these issues that you may or may not have discussed previously. We had already talked about most of these things, but it was still good to spend a weekend to focus on our relationship and raise possibly problematic issues in an non-threatening environment.

And don't worry about being made to "share" your discussions with the rest of the group - its about you and your partner, and no one pressurizes you to share you private discussions with anyone else.

All in all, I would definitely recommend it to any serious couple.
