Hi, need advise from you all, is the following itinery do-able?

Day 1: Alight from Chiseto Airport
- Hakodate for the night view
Day 2:
- Sapporo
Day 3:
- Otaru
Day4-5:
- Ski Resort at Rusada

How's the travelling like for Hakodate, Sapporo and Otaru

Hakodate is 3.5hrs by train from sapporo. it would be a waste to travel all the way and back just for night view. If you really want to visit hakodate, fly to Hakodate airport and proceed to Sapporo from there.
Otaru is 30mins by train from sapporo.

I have booked hotel porto in Hakodate and Hotel keihan Sapporo for my trip in 2 wks times. Will update you when i get back. Otherwise, there are many hotels or pensions near the train stations, depending on you budget.

Hi ppl, could i check what would the temp be like during the period from end nov to early dec? I would be going Hokkaido with SA tours too, heard from my agent that my tour group has confirmed numbers of 30+ already. Gosh, what a big group..Any cotters here going with SA tours to Hokkaido in end Nov as well?

Main question would still be on the temp, so I can start thinking of what clothes to bring over or buy...hehe...

I went ard christmas last year. Temperature was between minus 1-7.most of the time i wore aroud 4-5 pieces including my coat

i will be flying to Hakodate from Osaka on 29 Nov and leaving on the 7 Dec from sapporo back to osaka to continue the trip...

and Chan brothers quote me $2888 + $172 (taxes) for 7D, flying by united airlines

the package is much more expensive than SA and ASA.
and i wonder why the huge difference.. =(

Any shopping area to recommend? I am thinking of getting burberry there there, does the airport sells it? Which is cheaper, airport or departmental stores outside? Anyway are we entitled to tax rebate etc?

shopping area is around the JR station n Susukino.

hi gals,

i just came back from Hokkaido a week ago. i joined ASA "7 days Autumn in Hokkaido" tour. I felt tiring joining tour group as i have not joined tour group for the past 10 yrs or so. Plus my tour group have alot of kiasu aunties, but they are quite kind soul who help to take care of my granny as well. Food provided wasn't that fantastic, i was actually quite sick of the food there after 3 days despite i love eating jap food in Singapore. Only food that i paid myself was fantastic!

Blue label can be found in Daimaru, in sapporo. i don't think Burberry (blue label) is found in airports.

Definitely will go back again, but of course F&E.. loveee the cheese cakes, ice creams and chocolates there..!!

Anyone being to Hokkaido by themselves (not tour package)? Easy to navigate & communicate with the locals? I should be going around during the April- June season when it's not too cold, and flowers are blooming there.

Its's one of my destination choices in my honeymoon list, would like a countryside kind with some hiking activity, enough of city already.

Heard that transport can be quite costly in Hokkaido, is that true too?
Would also like to know some recommendations for hotels (no need 4-star kind), bed&breakfast or the ryokan type is fine for me too.

I haven't really planned an itinerary yet, but the lakes and national parks (with the volcanoes) are definitely on my list.
