Let me know too! (:
I'm planning for a 3 weeks trip to both North and South. Thinking of flying qantas but looks like they do not have direct flight.
hey dk, i'll be heading down for a workng holiday in nz early next year, staying till earliest june before i'll be back.
Am wondering what sort of clothes should i pack for the trip since i heard the temperature varies meely 10 degrees betwen summer and winter. I'm planning to do some seasonal work there, so was initially planning to pack some tshirts, but i'm the kind who's dreadfully afraid of the cold. Am also planning to visit places of interests, so is there like a general dress code for some of these places ? Do advise ! Thanks.
Hi Windshadow. Emm....it depends where you will be based in. North island or South island? Generally, weather from Jan-June is mild but better bring some long sleeves shirts, a jacket and scarves. Though summer, weather can get quite chilly sometimes and you will definitely need them to get through autumn here.
There is no specific dress code for the places of interests, just dress anything you like (^_^). People here are very casual and carefree. Of course, if one of your places of interest is casino, then you would need something smart (^_^)
Hope this helps!
Booked to go New Zealand next year Aug 11 for 10 days trip, actually only 8 days there.
Would it be easy to get around if we don't drive?
Flight alighting at Christchurch. Any nice place must visit at Christchurch?or better for us to venture out.
may i know if i were to do free & easy, but without driving, how can i travel around NZ if i wish to explore more places?

any good shopping to do in Auckland ? I was thinking of making a trip in Dec this year with my kids. but still contemplating whether to go to Christchurch or Auckland , any suggestions ?
I'd be heading to Wellington for xmas and spending new yr count down there. Read the previous posts on the various suggestions for wellington visit. Wondering if the things there are really expensive? What's a must buy NZ brands? Do they have international brands in most of the malls ?

Been to wellington and still prefer the south island. Things in NZ are relatively affordable compared to that in Spore. Anyway the currency is almost on par. Food wise is expensive. u will spend at least nzd10 per meal per pax. If u are staying at budget hostel it will be good to grab something from countdown or Pak N Sav and cook in budget o backpacker lodge. Almost all lodges provide cooking facilities. U can try google on the weekend markets in wellington. If u can find Dressmart, you can grab brands like billabong rip curl etc at a very reasonable price
Hi is Jan a good time to go new zealand? any good lobang for travel agencies? Thanks!
How is the situation in CHRISTCHURCH now? Plan to visit in April 2012?
Hi ladies going to NZ these coming months please never ever forget to share your experiences and pictures here because I also wanted to go there but not my priority right now. So the best thing to do to ease frustrations is to research more for the best place to go and date to NZ.
