Hey girls,
I'm going osaka in 2weeks time!
& i've got afew qns for help. =/
1. Can anyone recommend me any good places for shopping and great buys(it'd be great if its cheap! hahaha!)?
Few of the places i'd be going are shinsaibashi, unicersal studio, nissin memorial museum, tempozan waterfront village, umeda underground mall, osaka castle.
2. Anything specifically that i shouldn't miss out in going and buying?
3. I'm staying at a hotel called Ramada (smth like that. not so sure too ;x) and i
heard that Shinsaibashi which is near to my hotel, is a good place for shopping?
Just wondering, is it somewhat like Orchard in Singapore? My friend told me that it simply can't be completed within one day! Wow! Totally excited! Haha!
4. Is umeda somewhat like Shinsaibashi also? Great for shopping? Alot to shop for? ;x
5. I can't wait to buy all the agnes b, comme des cargons, porter and cosmetics back! Is there any outlet retailing these brands which are bigger and carry a wider range of these items?
6. Can someone pls provide me the factory outlet address for agnes b and cdg? I'm dying to go there! I've goggled it but couldn't be found.
7. Any night places which i can visit after all the stores are closed?
8. What time does the store close or the city lights out?
9. I'll be going to universal studio. Anth special about there?
10. Any great places for food, snacks and cute stuffs?
I'D BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP GIRLS!))

Shinsaibashi or Namba should be sufficient for your shopping needs. A lot of shops, hundred yen shops and big departmental stores like Daimaru & Takishimaya. There is also this Muji flagstore, which has 5 levels of products. :wow:
Not to mention the number of eateries and restaurants available there.
Enjoy.![]()
anyone else has tips for Osaka travelling? :D
if u can spare the time, go around kansai..kobe, kyoto, nara etc.
for those who know some japanese, i'd recommend getting a guidebook on kansai-ben. some of my relatives live in kansai and i have to admit i have a really hard time trying to understand them.
the Takarazuka Revue is definitely worth watching if u're going to hyogo. i'd say it's a must if you visit kansai. it's kinda like the japanese equivalent of broadway..where top stars like kuroki hitomi first started out.
Hi cotters,
Any hair salons to recommend in Osaka/Kyoto for good hair cuts?

Hihi, thought I'd share this link:

You can find the daily historical weather data for Osaka. =)
I will be staying at Hotel Vista Grande Osaka this coming trip to Osaka in November. From what I see it's around Dotombori and Shinsaibashi area. Hopefully it will be a good experience. :D
Heard many raves about Cross Hotel Osaka (also around Dotombori/Shinsaibashi) but that was a little over budget for me. :3
It'll be pretty cold around 4 - 10ºC
Here are some hotels...
Dotonbori Area
Hotel Dotonbori (5min walk to Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori Street) http://www.dotonbori-h.co.jp/e-index.php
Shinsaibashi
Comfort Inn Shinsaibashi (2min walk to Shinsaibashi, 7min walk to Dotonbori St) http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-osaka-japan-JP025
Hotel Vista Grande (3min walk to Shinsaibashi, 5min walk to Dotonbori) http://www.hotel-vista.jp/osaka/index_e.html
Cross Hotel (1min walk to Shinsaibashi, 2min walk to Dotonbori St)

Hotel T'Point (4min walk to Shinsaibashi, 8min walk to Dotonbori St)
America Mura (On the other side of the Midosuji St from Shinsaibashi)
Hotel Area One Shinsaibashi (5min walk to Shinsaibashi, 9min walk to Dotonbori St)
Dormy Inn Shinsaibashi (5min walk to Shinsaibashi, 9min walk to Dotonbori St)

New Osaka Hotel (4min walk to Shinsaibashi, 10min walk to Dotonbori St)

IMo one of the best choices is the Cross Hotel although it's slightly higher than the rest in terms of price, it's practically on Shinsaibashi shopping street and it's a stone throw away from Dotonbori and Nanba.
It's closer to Namba Stn than Shinsaibashi Station though.

Thanks for the prompt replies!
How about Nikko Hotel?
Which part are you looking at?
Near Yumoto Onsen, Chuzenji Lake or around Nikko Stn area?
The accomodations around there are mostly onsen ryokans, which are a tad bit expensive (>17500yen/night w/o meals)
There are a small number of Business Hotels but a little inaccessible

I stayed in this hotel when I was in Osaka. very close to shinsaibashi and service was good. though the room was small, but very clean n cozy.
price is pretty affordable too!

i'm also going to jpn in 2 weeks time.. will be travelling to tokyo and 3 nites stay in osaka.. can anyone tell me hw to go about doing the reservations for 1 way trip on the shinkansen from shinjuku station to osaka main station?
koyume: me too booked HVF Shinsaibashi this time.. glad to hear that you mentioned it being very clean.. hahahaha.. wanted to book cross hotel as it looked great from pics but was abit over budget.. rather spend the monies on shopping instead..
i do have travel tips and info on Osaka, my itinerary for Japan can be found very detailed on my blog, do visit it for info and pics if interested, hope it can be helpful to those going there.

also, i LOVE Universal Studios, the rides there are wonderful, i esp like the roller coaster, it looks so slow and fun, but when you're on it, its actually quite fast! And you can choose the music you want to listen to while on the ride, very cool and fun![]()
hi My family (around 8-10 heads) are planning a trip to osaka this year end , but as we had wanted to specifically to spend first day in tokyo before proceed to osaka. anyone know of any good travel agency will be able to handle inland travelling?
