Hi all,
Is it cheaper to buy Swiss made watches (Omega/Rolex etc) from Switzerland as compared to SG? If yes, how much cheaper can we expect after tax rebate? TIA
Hi, I would like to know too...like how much cheaper is it going to be compared to getting it in Sg.
So far, the only information I managed to find out is here:-
" Last, here's some useful information from www.globalrefund.com:
"The VAT rate in Switzerland is 7.6 % and is included in the sales price. All visitors residing outside of Switzerland are entitled to claim back the VAT, if they spend CHF 400 ore more in one shop in one day. The goods must be exported within 30 days after purchase date and the export must be confirmed by an official Swiss customs stamp."
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Susanna "
it is more expensive buying watches there, even if it's made in switzerland and even after tax rebate.
oohh...much more expensiveHow come-le? shouldn't the swiss made products be cheaper there instead of here cos we have to pay 7% GST and all when buying over here right...
Anyone buy the brand Ball watch in Switzerland?
what is the price?thank you
had checked in Switzerland before. . it is indeed much more expensive than Sin. And there is very limited selection in the watch boutique. What the locals do, is they normally order now and pay the $ now, and they will get their watches after that (that's what a German fren told me) . . .
overhead costs, shop rental, taxes, wages are all higher. Operating costs > cheaper price hence the higher pricing in Europe.
Also could be due to higher spending power of their clients.
I bought my swatch from switzerland, and it's cheaper than Singapore after tax rebate [exact same piece]. My mum bought Omega, should also be slightly cheaper. And I also bought Butcherer, not available in Singapore.
think it depends on what brand maybe? I bought tissot from Swiss and it's much cheaper there.
