Okay, I think this is unfair My husband's lolex is a boy-sized and it suits him just fine. I think it all depends on the wrist size. Men sized will made him look like a little boy in a men's watch!

No offence taken. Actually I know exactly what you both mean. It's like me wearing those antique small faced watches. :sotong:

oops forgot to add the "friend" is one ugly bugger who is FAT all over except for scrawny arms :puke: like our emoticons.....he reminds me of a spider, fat body, almost non-existent limbs

it's unfortunate that he brags all the time and i guess i had to notice the lolex on him and make appropriate sounds

    sorry karen no offence!

my dad's wrist is really small, so he wears a boy's size AP =))

queenie dear, thanks for sharing with us what's special about each watch company. it helps me to appreciate the watches better.

    here's my list :
    Rolex Oyster Perpectual DateAdjust
i used to think the rolex was very old fashion and for the old people until i got my oyster perpectual as a Xmas present from my sis. love the pale pink oyster shell and the white gold combi to bits!! =)

Tag... not sure what model is it.. been so long
PLEASE PLEASE do not buy this. got this during my JC year when it was the hot watch and it does not keep time very well. the non-auto works fine but the auto is a horror. my sister bought one too at the same time and has the same problems!!!

DH bought a piece from them before, i've sent my watch there for servicing and Dad had his lolek overhauled there. Good service and friendly people who have very good knowledge of time pieces. You can learn a fair bit by talking to them.

If there's a particular model that you are looking for, they can help you look out for it and call you once they have it.

I love watches - have a really soft spot and constantly on the look out for new exciting ones but it's an expensive hobby I prefer bracelet watches to watches with leather straps.

My 1st major buy was a Tag Heuer 1500 series, with a grey/black speckled watch face. At that time, at S$700+, it was abit hehehehehehehe. In the begining, I wore it everyday ! I told myself, if I wear it everyday, it works out to S$1 a day for 2 years ! It has been 3-4 years and I still wear it occasionally.

I bought a Fendi logo watch in pink after I got my US visa - to reward myself for all the hassle

I got my dream watch - a Cartier Tank Francaise (ladies) from my FIL during my wedding. Over the past year, I kinda wonder if the larger men size watch would have been more cool but I am not complaining !!!

I am not sure why I got the Tiffany Atlas watch but it's square face and the there are numbers on the watch casing so it is quite a cool watch.

My hubby bought me Rolex Oyster Perpectual - ladies with a blue face for my birthday last year so that is my is 1st Rolex !

Then I wanted to get myself another Tag since they are so reliable so I bought the special Valentine 2000 series edition with a pink watch face.

Last Xmas, my hubby bought for me a Cartier Tank Divan. Simply divine ! I swop the black watch strapped to fushia pink so that's my "statement" watch !

Now, I want a Cartier Santos with the silvery grey watch face
stressed's pink Rolex is really cool ! Do I have an additional lemming ???

But I am trying to be a good girl

Hahaha Jos, you are so hilarious!!!

Actually I've been telling myself that watches are good investments..provided you get the right one. My regret was to get TechnoLady Chrono. Technomarine produces professional diving watches. It was a fad to wear diamante sporty watches years ago. And now it's sitting in the box.

Here are some other watches that I like:

A splendid diversion... trend-setting Happy Sport ladies' chronograph from Chopard glistens in diamonds and premium grade steel. Up-to-the minute style and performance in a chronograph created expressly for women. Seven sparkling round diamonds create a dramatic focal point as they float between two sapphire crystals above the dial. Elegant polished steel case is accented by decorative blue sapphire cabochons on the lugs, crown and push-pieces. Case is presented on the attractive navy alligator strap. Silvery blue dial shines with three silver colored subdials, blue sword hands and Roman numeral markers. Small seconds, 1/10th of a second and 30-minute registers.

Chopard ladies' Happy Sport watch glistens in premium grade steel, sparkling rubies and sapphires. A whimsical and feminine interpretation of a diver's watch from the legendary jeweler. Three captivating fish with shimmering rubies, blue sapphires and yellow sapphires create a dramatic focal point as they float between two sapphire crystals above the dial. Elegant polished steel case is accented by decorative cabochon detail on the lugs. Case is presented on the captivating blue rubber strap. Polished unidirectional rotating bezel with engraved markers surrounds the blue metallic dial with decorative fish embossings, luminous hands and hour markers.
