Could my newly bought laptop actually be used/refurbished?

Dear all,

I have recently purchased an acer laptop but realised that an irrelevant page was bookmarked in internet explorer. The page is a wordpress blog "alvinology" and the specific webpage is a food review on mussel guys in vivocity.

Hence, I am wondering if this supposed laptop has been used before and someone has forgotten to delete the bookmarks. Has anyone of you bought a laptop and discovered contents such as bookmarked pages that should not be present?

I hope I did not purchase a used/refurbished laptop as the salesperson made it clear that it is new.

Did you get it at the recent IT show? I came across an article on asiaone about this guy who was in the same predicament as you. He wrote into stomp and the company immediately contacted him to change a new laptop.

Hi, Best bet ..Its not a brand new device... could be that 1 of the reps tested the system ..
