Default Internet Plans - Optic Fibre

    HI,

Is anyone using any of the optic fibre network plans from any of the telco? My home broadband contract is expiring soon and I am shopping around. My bro told me our home is fibre serviceable since mid last year so we can also consider Singtel's extreme / express optic fiber price plans.

I sometimes work at home thus internet speed is quite important to me so optic fibre is very attractive to me.

I had signed for Singtel's fibre optic plan some time in Dec and it's gonna take them 2 months to fix it up at my house. The scheduled appointment date is late Feb and I can't wait because Starhub is seriously pissing me off with the unstable internet connection. I will let you know how it performs after they fix it up!

prettyeagle- That is great! I was talking to my bro about optic fibre and he told me he is kind of worried that the infrastructure might not be stable yet. He said that optic fibre can easily be broken if they are not installed properly and he has not much confident in the contractors hired to install the optic fibres cabling.

previously i was using m1's 100mbps fibre, and i'd say it's quite good. did a speedtest check and downlaod speed can be up to 80mbps.

on local websites, it is indeed fast. however if you are to log on to overseas website, it will still be dependable on the websites' server.

eg. fighting for concert tickets on sistic is a breeze. watching youtube can sometimes be laggy.

so still, i will change to fibre once my singtel's contract is up next year.

Was on the normal singnet plan 10mbps in the past and after changing to fibre and using wireless connection, the speed seems to be slower than the past sometimes for me during certain times
