Iphone4: No longer tied down to a single telco.

We just learned that Apple will be releasing their new iPhone 4 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and YES! Singapore sometime this July.

Singapore’s local telcos were asked to comment about whether it would be released on their networks. All three telcos SingTel, StarHub and M1 said that they will be offering the iPhone 4 to consumers.

Pricing is not clear but many are expecting prices of the new iPhone 4 to be a little higher than its predecessor, the iPhone 3GS.

Certainly good news for Singaporeans as this would mean that they are free to chose which telco they would like to get plans with.

It is official. The new iPhone is not iPhone 4G, iPhone HD. It is just by a simple name of iPhone 4. It has front facing camera, 5 MegaPixels camera with Flash, shoots 720p HD video, does video calling (via WiFi only, and to iOS 4 devices only) called FaceTime, super high resolution screen called Retina Display and it will come to Singapore in July 2010.
