If you are only hooking up with just one terminal, an ethernet modem will suffice.
Glossie, im now surfing at 512k....its free upgrade from 256...
I think this speed is fast enough for me...![]()
Downloading of "data" (you know what) only takes 2 or 3 minutes...haha....
The page load quite fast too...hee....im happy....
mine comes with free 3 mths subscription....so i only have to pay 42$ reg fee for a start *i assume*
Yeah raebelasian is right. If you only have one terminal at home, there's no need for wireless modem.
Thanks, girlsI should've specified more. One terminal I need but I'd hope to let one or more users surf as well. I just might sign up for the 1500kbps one instead. Comes to $84 after taxes, free wireless modem.
Pacific Internet offers attractive free gifts! Eyeing the router with ADSL modem.
Glossie dear,
It's $68.25 after taxes .. $84 is the price you would have paid with no promotion .. heh, you almost gave me a fright coz I just signed up for that plan last week!
Hmm, if you want more than one user to surf at the same time, just get the usual ethernet modem and an extra long cable!![]()
My apologies, 101!I noticed it only today! One silly question: if my PC's RAM is only 128, will getting this plan negate the whole big deal about 1500kbps?
Actually, I think 128MB of RAM is enough for "normal" PC use, which includes surfing the Net -- always thought that you'll only need more if you're into heavy simulation work or intense real-time online gaming and the likes
But of course, the more the merrier, right?my little 13.8" notebook has 1GB of RAM! Heh.
1GB of RAM!?!?! wow...mine is 512MB...hahah...yes i think 128 would suffice for normal pc use
ram and ur modem doesn't have much interference tho. but it doesn't hurt to have 512 ram at least. proggies nowadays are memory eaters. having more rams enables ur appz to start faster etc and lesser chances of memory fault.
does anyone know if the ipod mini promotion is still on? Didn't see it on the singnet broadbank page, i suppose the offer is over?![]()
One question about wireless connection. Does the base unit (cpu) need to be switched on for the secondary unit to work?

Ipod mini promotion is over.
Here's the new one that comes with free Hi-Fi system

You don't need the main terminal to be switched on for the others to be workedHope I answered your qn!

Legolas is right! many software these days are eating the memory space! The bigger the size of the RAM, the better. I am greedy anywayOriginally posted by Glossie

Thanks, RacYes, greedy is good. I finally got my computer and cable connection!
For now I haven't upgraded the SD RAM, and it seems OK so far, with MaxOnline 3000.
Forget that I should thank you for your input, LegolasOriginally posted by Legolas

It goes to sleep quick, though.
I had problems downloading Norton's initially but it seems fine now (I kept getting messages to update messages blah blah)Could I have OD it? Don't tell me I gotta uninstall?? Or I'm just being paranoid?
