Nardia Face & Body Care @ Pagoda St.

I recently donated $10 to a charity project (Operation Renewal), & received a card entitling me to two choices of a complimentary package.

Obviously I've Googled them, & seen their website (not so well done but still seemingly legit).. but I'm still kinda dubious if I should book an appointment w/ them. As of yet I've had no experience w/ the spas in S'pore, so I was wondering if this offer is too good to be true, i.e. they'll force other unnecessary treatments on me, charge me hidden fees, etc.

So. Has anyone else been there? If so, how was it, & how much would you rate them out of five?

Hi there. I ve being there to do full face threading once. Didnt go back to them because of the travel distance. Their threading is not bad. Facial I ve not done there b4. But I m using their Nadia range products which is good though I didnt get the products from them too. I got it from another beautician. The beautician attending to me was not pushy though she did recommend me their packages etc.

Nowadays, spas which are reliabe come with a sticker from CASE under the Spa Accreditation Scheme. You can read up more abt this scheme here: http://www.case.org.sg/downloads/cen...%20CASESPA.pdf

Recently some spas ve band together to better enhance their package deal by insuring them so that in the event that the spa fold, the customers can claim fr the insurance company. i duno how it works but apparently the highest payout is max $2k depending on your balance package I think. The spa industry wan to win the confidence of customers back. So if u really do sign, no harm asking them whether your package is insured not.

Not that spas w/o the sticker is no good, jus that if u plan on signing up any packages better be on the safe side.

I personally dun trust those complimentary package deals cos I believe there's no free lunch. But this is my personal opinion.

    Jus my 2 cents worth.

Hi Dandelion, I bought the package too and I would strongly recommend you try to get a refund since you have not used the voucher yet. The staff are extremely unprofessional and forcefully got me to buy the after IPL mask for 10 sessions which came up to about $150. So in total, I ended up spending about $300 for unacceptable service and coercive sales tactics from the staff.

I've been visit a beauty outlet last Saturday with the $10 donate voucher at Maxwell market. The beautician was recommended me to do E-Light Treatment, and I did. after the treatment, my forehead very itchy and redness, she never said it was burnt and apologies to me, she said it will heal after 1 -2 days with a cream she gave me. however, at the second day morning (15th Jan 2012) when i look at the mirror, the redness become worst seems like a scar, I am damn worry because i did sign up the package with them. Immediately I called them up and visit them. they said the beautician attend to me is off today and they make a call to her whether she can come down to do something for me. Over the phone, I request her to cancel my package and fully refund me, meantime please guarantee my scar can be heal. she never said she will come down immediately but asking me to visit her this evening, deep sigh! I'm deeply upset with such service which they are not seriously look into this....

Return to the outlet last night to cancel my package and ask for refund. The PIC is nice, she apologized and promised to refund me and recover my face before CNY.

after 3 days continuously doing treatment at Nardia, the scar faded a lot, my experience told me that select a good and reliable beautician is very important if you are consider to do any facial treatment. Thanks for the PIC in Nardia (TPY), she really make an effort to repair my face and 100% refund to me.

    Default Nardia @Pagoda

I redeemed my deal.com.sg voucher for a $19 facial on Sat, 25 Feb. Went with a friend.

The salesgirl tried to sell me 2 sponges for $8, but I didn't buy. She said cos use my own sponge instead of sharing more hygienic etc, and I can bring it back to use. But it looks like those cheapskate sponge la. The ambience was BAD! My beautician didn't even close the curtain fully the steps before the mask (final), so there was light streaming in directly on my face. People kept coming in and out, take things, talk at normal volume...one even came in borrow extractor from my beautician=.= Apparently my friend said it was the first time she went facial without changing into a gown! LOL. I got a pink gown. Guess they didn't have enough!

I shared a 10 session package with a friend though. $580 - $20(voucher) = $56/session. Cos quite worth it - standard facial (extraction, mask etc) + diamond peel + radio frequency. They didn't hardsell us alot (my friend's beautician) cos I guess we already had the 'look' we wanted to buy.. I did feedback it was noisy, she acknowledged it and said they focused on results but lack environment. LOL. See if you believe ***...excuses for lack of ambience, but like what she said... for me, I don't mind if got results!

Didn't hardsell me products cos I guess I bought the facial and will be back! Anyone knows how the products are?? I don't plan buy...at most don't bring card so they can't sell us! Or ask for sample. I don't believe a product's effective if they do NOT have the confidence to provide trial sizes.

I hardly complain about bad service, as I can tolerate this quite well. But Nardia was simply atrocious. You can take my words for it. After all, I’ve been through 3 sessions at Nardia (I wonder why I didn’t complain from the very beginning).

Those who bought the unlimited Brazilian IPL, and this is what we got:
    1. UNLIMITED SESSIONS = UNLIMITED TIMES TO HARD-SELL products. It ranges from asking me to upgrade to a more effective IPL, to masks, to facial package, to “limited edition” products EVERY MONTH. I’ve already spent addition $150 on masks, and the hard-selling still refuses to stop. It really causes emotional distress.
    2. DARK AND DODGY interior. The rooms are so messy and small, about the size of a single bed. There’s barely space to walk. It literally looks like one of those dens that people smoke opium in, in the past.
    3. MISREPRESENTATION. On groupon, you’ll see lengthy description of the effect of IPL that they probably copied from somewhere. But when you’re there, they will tell you that it will take 5 years to see the effect, and then go on to pressure you into paying more for more effective methods. Then you’ll wonder to yourself, “why should I trust them again?!”
    4. RUDE BEAUTICIANS THAT CAN’T SPEAK ENGLISH. I’m not asking for them to speak perfect English, but most of them can only speak Chinese. They are very rude and intrusive and send you on a guilt-trip whenever you don’t buy additional services from them.

I’d just like to recall my most recent experience with Nardia.

When the beautician was doing my Brazilian IPL, she kept trying to make me pay for more expensive services. When I tried to explain why I didn’t want to, her face turned black and was almost lecturing me about why I’m being stubborn. She then refused to hear my explanation and say she has to attend to other customers, and will discuss with me later.

When I wanted to ask her about the previous session, she said it was none of her business, cause she wasn’t attending to me last month (can’t believe she had the cheek to say that. SHE WAS LATE, SO SOMEONE HAD TO COVER FOR HER). How rude.

After the session, she tried to sell me these “limited edition” products, and I was iffy about its effects. After all, we all know about how they conned us into unlimited Brazilian that is not effective. I brought this issue up, and then she tried to sell me a more effective IPL technique.

ME: how would I know if it’s effective? You guys keep telling me that the current one is not effective. Why would you offer services that are not effective?
HER: (sudden change of mind) of course it’s effective! We are on the website ***! How can it be not effective! I only say it takes a very long time what! If not effective, then why will groupon feature us?
ME: speaking of websites, you guys have a lot of complaints online (hoping she will ask what the complaints are and try to improve on these points).
HER: (very defensive) what?! Where got?! it’s people like YOU who complain! Everywhere also got complains what. Even companies in New York will also have complains! It’s people like YOU ***. Other people never complain one.
ME: (I should have said “it’s beauticians like YOU that garner such complaints”. But I was just laughing at how she took this out of context and talked about New York? Hahaha.)
HER: You want to buy anot?!
    ME:*chuckles* nooo.. (are you mad?!)

And then she refused to book the next appointment with me. I had to call her, as she grudgingly returned to her counter. Her boss and other beautician probably heard our conversation and ganged up against me

HER: so when you want?! When? You tell me lar! When!
ME: next month, on a Saturday or Sunday? (I have work on weekdays)
HER: Must be Saturday Sunday ***? Cannot be other days ah?!
HER BOSS: Saturday Sunday only can slots before 11am or after 630pm.
ME: (thinking: this didn’t happen to me the last 2 times. I was always allowed to book afternoon slots. But oh well, 11 sounds good) 11am then (:
HER BOSS: fine. (looking almost displeased cause she didn’t manage to piss me off)

All in all, Nardia is a place with unpleasant staff and a lady boss that encourage such behaviour. DON’T EVER GO THERE.
