Cysts and nodules are the most serious type of acne.
Cystic acne is the size of regular mosquito bites(mine was always about 7mm-1cm+ each) with lots of pus n blood underneath it, when u touch it its soft n squishy but you cant squeeze it 'cos there's simply no head!
After 2-3weeks the pus may surface and you can find 3-5 heads in 1 cystic acne, once u squeeze, its a lot of pus and blood. For my case where my clotting factor doesnt seem to work so well, my cyst can bleed for 40mins -1hr, no joke! I was watchin drama online which ended b4 my cysts stopped bleeding. Worse is even if i did squeeze out lots of stuff, my infection was way too deep, the cysts keep coming back month after month.

I've tried whatever i can think of, acne cream doesnt work 'cos too deeply infected, I even apply manuka honey, aspirin mask(i think this caused me to have cysts), tto, castor oil...they all dont work/

Eventually i canot stand it anymore 'cos both my cheeks are laden with cysts and it pains my heart as much as my cheeks, so i went facial forthnightly, alternating btn normal extraction facial and treatment facial. Takes about 5months to heal my cysts, i still continue facial cos i wan to further improve my skin. Now i am on western herbal treatment to prevent my hormonal cysts from coming back.

Yes, cystic pimples are the huge and painful pimples with no head. Looks like mosquito bite. Normally when I feel one cystic pimple coming, I will load it lots and lots and lots of pimple cream. If I'm lucky, it doesn't develop into a full fledge cystic pimple. If it does, then it will never go away for months.

My cystic pimple never develops a head. It just becomes a post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and there's always this hard bump under the skin for months. Really bad. I get this all the time =(

Battling cystic acne all the time. I swear by 2 products.

Nixoderm. Available at drugstores. Spread over the lump like a thick mask and let it dry. It dries out the lump and makes it soft.

Differin. Need to get from clinics. Use it as spot treatment for cystic acne. Can drain off everything inside and I swear I've seen immediate disappearance after using it overnight.

are you using both at the same time? and Nixoderm is a type of cream? Which part of the drugstore can I find this?

    Are you also using retinoids?

i've one bump on my nose and another on my chin, and i think it's cystic pimple. It's slightly bigger than mosquito bite, feels hard inside and hurts when i pressed. the one on my nose was a pimple which i squeezed and when to facial to have it squeezed till its flat, but after one week i squeezed it again cos i saw a little white thing and it became a full blown pimple. It slowly healed up and my nose still has a reddish spot, like scar. Now i can feel something growing on the same spot again, pain when i press but no head or pus visible on the surface

I've dehydrated skin, and usually have occasional pimples but i don't know why and what to do with these two bumps.

I also have differen gel and another topical liquid antibiotic called dono what **cylin, sad to say it doesnt work for me either. Used to be on doxycycline which is completely bull then went on to nimegan for 13mths, now i cant take this pill 'cos i have liver issue. That's what i mean by trying everything i can. Facial wont harm my liver and its cheaper than i though 'cos i dont spend on rubbish face pdts anymore so i'm gonna continue.

xblissx Sounds like cystic acne to me. They take really long to disappear dont they

If you have dehydrated skin you could still be oily underneath.. Anyway, if you have cystic acne on your chin it could be due to hormones too I used to be plagued by cystic acne on the chin (and forehead) and it was a nightmare. But you can try going on birth control pills to help with the hormones.

    Thanks for your reply prettyeagle!
During facial the person was telling me that underneath my skin the oil and sweat glands could be imbalance and because i'm using bb cream and loose powder, the powder prevents the dirty things from coming out.
Just wondering is cystic pimple due to external products and improper cleansing etc or is it an internal thing?

xblissx Cystic acne could be due to both. But I personally think it's more of a genetic/hormonal thing. I doubt it is due to external products, but usage of unsuitable products may escalate the problem more

I used to have cystic pimples on my chin. A nightmare to me. They are just lumps on my chin and do not have any heads. And that is on top of those pimples and whiteheads with pus.... A HORRIBLE time for me.. Sad to say... i tried steiva/retin/differin/clindamycin/salicylic acid.. nothing works.
Pimples than spread onto the rest of my face
Had to go on a terrible 6 months course of roaccutane, endure all the side effects before recovering from it....

Do note that cortisone jab does have side effects as well if not injected properly. U need to get an experienced doctor to do it for u. If the wrong amount is injected, it could lead to a dent in your skin.

    Just my worth.

You get cystic acne because of hormones. It causes too much oil sebum production hence tend to clog. Sometimes it's also due to the inner layer of skin is damaged so the oil cannot flow properly to the surface of the skin. Then it gets clogged up and cannot flow out.

Nope. Use one at a time. Both will cause peeling. Nixoderm can get from Watsons, Guardians all those places.

    I'm not on retinoids.

Try Mario badescu products , i swear that it can improve your complexion faster , especially the drying lotion and drying cream which is target at crystic acne.

I used it for 2 weeks religiously , and my face clear up so much.
I have alot of acnes on my chins due to hormone and also some on the hair line areas.

Mario badescu can be found in spore?? i saw from youtube video on their products for drying up pimples. I remeber watching the video that the solution is clear on top and whitish on bottom. The whitish is actually calamine or calamol lotion (those fo chicken pox). I think we can just purchase from watson or guardian for the calamol lotion. it's cheaper cost around $5.

Calomine lotion as written on bottle clears itch, insect bites and mild acnes. Most probably is light small acne, reduce acne redness. Can try but is not very effective.
