Can DIY lipscrubs with household ingredients. Like granulated/raw sugar mixed with a bit of honey You can even add a crushed aspirin tablet in that (for the salicylic and glycolic acid within) for better exfoliation. Just use an uncoated aspirin tablet, crush it to fine bits, mix with a bit of water to dissolve it, then add the honey & sugar. Some use olive oil as well as a base for the sugar grains.

It's just that I was sitting in a medical conference last year in the UK and they gave some history about disinfectants in UK hospitals and how phenol was widely used in the past and now no more because of the health risks. Then I remembered about the Carmex having phenol. And somemore applying on the lips so that some of it might be swallowed (**faints**). So I myself also have to stop using the pot that I purchased in Australia last year that does contain phenol.
Active Ingredients: Octinoxate (6.4%), Oxybenzone (5.4%)
Inactive Ingredients: Petrolatum, Lanolin, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Camphor, Menthol, Phenol, Salicylic Acid (in mixture of waxes and flavor)

all the carmex selling in ebay and gmarket has phenol and oxybenzone!
where can i buy carmex without these ingredients? i need a good lipbalm!

You will have to get the non-SPF version to eliminate the octinoxate. For the phenol, the last pot I bought from the UK did not contain phenol. You can get it from www.ebay.co.uk:

Please double check the ingredients with the seller before your purchase.

If you need a lip sunblock, I recommend the Soltan lip sunblock which you can purchase from the Asian Boots website based in Thailand.

i love burt's bees! it's mainly beeswax and other essential oils. no sunscreen though :/

no weird/artificial smell, glides on smoothly, non-oily and the minty sensation is a plus!! but for more severe peeling lips, i think it may not be good enough..

haha loved it so much i stock up on it whenever i'm at taka!

Lip Ice has 3 new lip balms which turn your lips into an unique colour! everyone will have different colours, depending on their natural lip colour.

    1. Strawberry - has a sweet strawberry scent
    2. Shimmer - no scent but has slight shimmer
    3. Fragrance-Free - plain but very moisturizing for the lips

I'm in love with Hada Labo's lipbalm. Like the fact that it is scentless as sometimes those weird lipbalm scents makes me a little nausea. It moisturizes quite well but has no SPF. It's quite reasonably priced as well, definitely worth a try

Kinda trying to gear towards the more organic skincare now, so compared some lip balms at watson/guardian.
Picked up Mentholatum Lip Pure - very natural, minimal ingredients !

    Just lovely, I'm a fan !

I'm loving Nivea fruity shine lip balm, both strawberry and cherry as they give my lips a reddish shimmer.
Plus, they keep my lips smooth and allowing me to skip both lip color and lip gloss.
What's there not to like about it

I just bought Lipice, its quite good for dry lips as we are always in air conditioned room for so many hours. It helps to prevent flaky lips too.
