I am a true supporter of water spray especially with our humid weather. I love the Vichy brand as all their products contains their 100% spa water directly extracted from La Source de Lucas (Lucas Spring) in the town of VICHY, located at the heart of France, which has the highest number of thermal springs in the country and its much-valued therapeutic waters have been renowned since the Gallo-Roman times.

I am fully agreeable that this gel is paraben-free, oil free and light, non greasy light in texture.

Thanks to Vichy, I managed to get the following products from the goodie bag at Vichy's Spa Water & 80th Anniversary workshop:

1. Vichy Thermal Spa Water (50ml)
I found a new use for this at the workshop: using it to soak up those DIY mask sheets by spraying the Thermal Spa Water on the mask sheet and allow it to soak up before applying it on my face. The skin around my nose and chin was recently peeling and stinging due to use of overly drying treatment. After spraying Vichy Thermal Spa Water on it, I could feel the redness and stinging on my skin coming down. I will continue to use this to help my skin heal faster.

2. Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua-Gel (50ml)
Due to the overly drying treatment, I also needed a hydrating moisturizer for my skin which was getting sensitive too. I would normally use a mattifying moisturizer but as my skin was peeling, my usual moisturizer just would not work. I found the solution in Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua-Gel. My skin feels cool and hydrated without any oily or sticky feeling after applying this. Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua-Gel also has a pleasant scent that feels calming on my senses.

3. Vichy Aqualia Thermal Sensitive Skin Mask (50ml)
This is a new product which has a similar scent to the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua-Gel. It can be applied and rinsed after immediately or left overnight as a sleeping mask. My skin feels well hydrated after using this.

4. Vichy Normaderm Night Anti-Imperfection + Rejuvenating Care (3ml)
This is an improvement over the previous formula and is specially formulated for Asian skin. I had used the previous formula which stung my skin, especially when I started using it initially. With this new formula, the stinging is gone but retains the anti-imperfection efficacies. It now helps in rejuvenating the skin as well. Even before I had this sample, I already bought the full size products when it was initially launched.

After attending a wonderful Vichy workshop recently, I would like to share some reviews of its products here. I learnt that all Vichy products contain thermal spa water that is suitable even for the sensitive skin, even babies can use it.

Vichy Thermal Spa Water spray is bottled right at its source in France, and contains the healing properties of the thermal spa water. This therapeutic water has many uses, from soaking a paper mask to apply on to the face to hydrate it right down to calming the rashes of babies from itchy scratches or nappy rashes. People with eczema or healing from chicken pox will find it useful too, as it calms the skin down. It can even penetrate the skin to hydrate it, even with the makeup still on. In fact, it refreshes the makeup too. I am currently using it (for a few years) as a toner after cleansing my face. It balances my skin, and prepares it for the moisturiser.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua-Gel is my favourite as it has amazing hydrating properties, and really soothes and hydrates the skin well. This translucent gel coats the skin well to form a barrier to protect it against water loss, and also moisturises it as well. After using it for a few days, I find that the skin is already more hydrated now, and feels more supple too.

Aqualia Thermal Mask is a hydrating mask. This is a rinse off mask. We just need to wipe off or wash off after 10 minutes. I do hear of some users who just leave it on without rinsing, but I still prefer to rinse off, as after that, I can apply the cooling Aqualia Thermal Aqua-Gel Moisturiser, which feels good on the skin.

Vichy Normaderm Night Anti-Imperfection+Rejuvenating Care is specially formulated for Asian skin. Just apply it at night, and the next morning, skin is more rejuvenated and radiant too.

I've been using mostly sheet masks, as I tend to be lazy about washing masks off my skin and concerned that creme masks might be overly-rich for my combination skin. However, because the Vichy Aqualia range was supposed to be soothing and suitable for even sensitive skin-types, with its thermal spring water, I decided to give it a try.

Mask cream is pale blue, with a light, pleasant fragrance.

I happened to have this huge annoying pimple above my right eyebrow, and indeed, it seemed less red and angry after using the mask. (Photos at: Kinna's on a Roll: Review: Vichy Aqualia Thermal Sensitive Skin Mask)

This mask can be left on, wiped off, or rinsed off. Lazy me tend to just wipe it off, but I think rinsing might be a better option - my face felt oilier/stickier than usual, after 6 hours, if I just wipe off.

I recently attended Vichy's Thermal Spa water workshop held at L'Oreal's office.

Before the workshop started, there were snacks and refreshments prepared for us!






This is actually a mint, and the mint is made from water from the Vichy Thermal Spa. And it tasted really good!

And, the slideshow began!



Vichy is actually a place in France, and Vichy(the company/brand) bought over the Thermal Spring and built a factory near it to preserve all the minerals in the water so that we, the consumers, get the best out of this miracle source of minerals that has tons of benefits on our skin. All products are actually made in France!




This multi-fuctional water has many benefits and uses!

[The full Aqua Thermal Range is paraben free consists of 3 different types of moisturizers! One is a gel based moisturizer, while the other two are cream based. The only difference between the two cream based ones is that one is more hydrating than the other, which is best for travelling or very dehydrated skin.

The travel sized bottle is a good size for you to put into your bag!

Review of Vichy's latest Aqualia Thermal Aqua Gel Moisturizer

This is a glycerin-based moisturiser very similar to Bio-essence's version. But Vichy's one contains the Vichy Thermal Spa Water, which is enriched with more than 15 rare minerals that are said to have soothing, fortifying and regenerating properties for the skin.
In particular, I am attracted to their "reduces skin sensitivity" claims - I tend to squeeze out the white heads on my face after showering, so something with anti-inflammatory properties to soothe it is very important.

However, I was concerned over how long the moisturiser will take to absorb into my skin - I love its distant cousin, the Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection moisturiser for its rapid absorption (together with the minty smell and cooling sensation, plus the anti-acne preperties, of course). As expected, nothing absorbs as fast as the latter, but this Aqua-Gel didn't do too badly - about 1 minute and it was absorbed, leaving my skin feeling cooler and softer. There was also a faint refreshing scent to it. I've been using it for almost a month, and with its oil-free and light, non-greasy texture, I've not encountered breakouts. By the way, it claims to provide lasting moisture for 24 hours, but I wash my face twice a day, so that point is moot... there's little to none oil-control either.

I will probably apply this just over the parts of my face where I need more moisture - my nose, and the apples of my cheeks. I'll stick to my anti-wrinkle, collagen-infused Hada Labo for my poor aging forehead where lines are showing up already...even though the latter takes the longest time to absorb ^^;;

What I wish can be improved, is perhaps a spatula provided with the product - the little glass bottle certainly looks classy, but I am often jittery when handling it for fear of dropping it, and furthermore, it is not very hygenic to be dipping my fingers in to scoop out the product all the time. And considering that not much of the product is required with each use, this bottle will last me a pretty long while, so I'll rather not have bacteria growing in it...

My reviews of the 3 products that I've tried:

Vichy Eau Thermale
It can be used as a hydrating mask by spraying the product on a dry pill mask. I thought facial mist could only be use to hydrate the face but I wasn't aware that they could be used as a hydrating mask too.

After about 20 minutes of application, I could feel that my face is very hydrated and supple. The face appears more plumped and radiant and I like this mask because it leaves a soft powdery finish on my face which is so smooth and helps to lock the moisture.
I sprayed more facial mist on my skin after the mask and I love the smell of the mist as it's very refreshing and the mist is very fine hence it's easily absorbed by the skin.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua Gel

I've used this product for a month on both day and night. I feel that my skin still feels very hydrated and supple when I wake up the next morning and I can simply splash my face with running water and continue with my usual skincare steps without having to wash my face with cleanser. The moisturizing effect is very good and doesn't feel oily at all. This works very well on my combination skin. I even used it as a sleeping treatment for my skin once a week by applying a thicker layer on my skin and slowly massage in before I go to bed.


Vichy Auqalia Thermal Mask

I also got to try this mask for a month. Apply a generous layer on make-up free skin. Leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse or wife off excess. Avoid eye area. I used this mask twice a week to constantly keep my face well-hydrated as dehydrated skin can easily cause fine line and wrinkles to form. The effects of this mask is quite similar to the thermal water + pill mask. I could see that my face appears more radiant, hydrated and supple. But this take a much shorter time and I love this mask because i use this as an emergency treatment to my skin when I don't have enough sleep. In the morning, I'll apply a thick layer of mask on my face and leave it on for 10 minutes. After which, I'll do a little massage with the mask before I wipe away the excess. I can feel that my face becomes more radiant and lifted. My skin doesn't appear too dull.


I feel that these Vichy products are very nourishing for my skin and prepares my skin for the makeup as my makeup stays on longer throughout the day and it becomes much easier to apply the foundation on my skin.

Recently I got to try out the new Normaderm Tri-Activ Cleanser. A 3 in 1 product which we can use it as a cleanser, an exfoliator and a mask. It comes in a simple tube form which makes it hassle-free to dispense the right amount of product.

I have been using this product for about a week, using it as a cleanser/scrub once a day and so far so good. Although it contains 25% clay, it does not leave my skin feeling tight or dry after each wash. In fact, I find my skin feel much smoother and softer. Thanks to the skin soothing agent and Vichy Thermal Spa water in the product!


So far I used it as a mask once, and I am happy with the result too. With my fingers, I squeeze an appropriate amount of product and apply onto my whole face (avoiding my lips and eye areas) and I just leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing off with water. The creamy mask did not dry up like what traditional clay mask does, I am surprised that 5 minutes is all I need to have a clearer skin. If you are in a rush for time, just use this mask during your shower or while you are shampoo-ing your hair. ('',)

There are also 2 New and Improved Formulas for Normaderm Cleansers..yet to try though but they look good..

After washing my face with this product, I do notice that my face is getting more refreshed and hydrated. The formula is quite mild and is not too harsh on my sensitive skin.

Review

The most unique feature about this product is definitely its multi-purpose functions as a cleanser, scrub and a mask. I can use it daily as a cleanser/scrub or as a mask whenever I need to clarify my complexion. So far, I have not seen a product in the skincare market that really provides a 3 in 1 multi-purpose function of a cleanser, a scrub and a Mask! I really have my doubts about its effectiveness before I try out this product. After trying out this product, I do love this concept of 3 in 1 functions as the beads of this cleanser are rather small in nature and do not irritate my combination skin. More-ever, I have noticed that my skin is getting smoother after using this product. I do think that it is perfect for people there who do not wish or like to use too many products for their normal skincare routine.

Review

I am currently using this product daily as part of my skin care routine. I have a combination skin which is oily at the T-zone area and dry at the side. After using this product, I can really sense a great difference in my T-zone area—It is not that oily after my long day of work at the office. I simply love this product because it really does a good job in keep my T-zone mattifies for a number of hours without any irritations. So far, I have not encountered any breakouts of acne or pimples at the T-zone after using this product. Therefore, this product is definitely suitable for people with sensitive oily or combination skin just like me.

I heard of an innovative way to use the newly launched Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Cleanser in 3 ways using just one application. First, use it as a cleanser. Once you are done with cleansing, let the product dry on your face, this will be the second way of using it as a mask. After around 5 minutes, wet your face with some water and scrub your face with it, which is the third way of using it as a scrub.
