Anybody tried the services at Wen and Weng before? I was recommened by one of the doctor there to do carbon laser peel to treat my open pores+pitted holes

I visited them at the CHina square branch for IPL in 2006. Didnt like the service there. No personal touch and I dun find the doctor professional. Can you imagine, I have a few blisters on my face after my first IPL and when I informed the doc, he just shrug it off. Since I have paid for a course of 5 IPL, I just bear with it. It was too painful and didnt do anything to my face. I didnt even redeem the 6th free treatment and the clinic also never follow up. Guess they are happier not to give the free treatment.

I have since moved on to Dr Ho at Asia Health Partners. He is much nicer and the staff there are great and friendly. Sadly, Dr Ho has sinced moved on from AHP.

I believe that the carbon laser you are referring to is Spectra Peel. Why don't you check out the posts here Cosmopolitan Clinic, Circular Rd and call the clinics mentioned in these post and check out the prices.

I went over to enquire at one of the branches of Wen & Weng recently, and was told that I HAVE TO CONSULT DOCTOR to find out the price of their chemical peels! I enquired in person, not over the phone, and yet their prices are kept secret?

Gosh, and to know what kind of peel used (AHA, PCA, TCA or whatever), I also have to CONSULT DOCTOR first?! It's just a simple enquiry! It left me less than impressed with the service.

And the Spectra is at least $400! Uhm... This is not an Orchard Road branch, how do they justify such prices? And such service...

Vividsenses, you had blisters after IPL!? That is serious! Ouch must have been painful and worrying. No scars right? Didn't the doctor check your skin after IPL? He (or she) should have done that, should have better care of the patient.

I will definitely NOT go to Wen & Weng. I think other clinics should provide better service. At least they will tell you a price range over the phone. If I have to pay for consultation just to find out about prices, then I rather go elsewhere. Or maybe I have to pay for consultation to find out the PRICE of consultation as well?

What happened to Dr Ho? Is he at Cosmopolitan Clinic or AHP? Where is he moving on to? Thanks!

lladyrain, Yup, I remembered I have 3 blisters. There were red bumps after I finished the procedure but the blisters only formed after I left the clinic. Thought the least that could do is to give me a cold compress after my IPL, Dr Ho always does that for me after my Spectra and Spectra is not as painful as IPL. Even when I informed the Wen & Wang doctor about the blisters at the next visit, he really just shrug it off. Lucky no scarring but need to be very careful when washing face. Do you also find that the clinic assistants at W&W are rather CMI too?

BTW, the W&W outlet at China Sq does GP consulting too, so it is not a specialised dermatologist clinc. Dunno where Dr Ho went, will find out and pm you.

Me 2...shocked also! But i guess docs move around anyway. Heard it only yesterday so must be quite recent cos I just saw him last month for my spectra.

Heard that he has gone back to Cosmo. Going to call them this morning and check. Let you girls know.

Im not so sure about Dr Chee, but i heard from the nurses he's got mood swings. not very good reviews abt him.

ic... u can seriously consider doing that cos i do see alot of improvement in my complexion. Go to Dr David Tan if  u've decided to go ahead with it.  Tues, Thurs and Sat he's over @ china sq central, other dayz @ vivo city. Hope this helps.

Anyway i also do spectra laser and my face got less oil and also smaller pores. The pores not totally gone but my doc explain that its not possible to have no pores!

I do believe it's the same if not similar. I have emailed Dr Toby Hui (the dr who recommended me) since last fri. I have not gotten any reply yet!
He recommend me 3 sessions of Carbon+3 sessions of Dermaroller and i would see significant improvement in my face as my case is not v serious. I told him that i have heard from other doctors that it's not possible to get back baby face if i have pitholes. He told me for my case it would depend on my luck.
Anyway, since i have no reply from the doc, their loss, cuz im gg see Dr Ho at Cosmo on Sat

Yikes dun go for dermaroller if your threashold for pain is not high! my bf did it and he took him a long while b4 going back cos he's afriad of the pain hehe.. but well .. the results is tremendous.

Whats does the dermaroller do? Do they put the numming cream for your bf? How long your BF get results? Really good results? Do u know if they do it only in Weng&Weng? I search the web only see that it is good for infusion treatment. Looks like alot of needles like that....u mean he do on his face ar? Woah so brave...looks painful....hmmmm.

Must ask my doc what its for.

FavFuschia, My 'unfortunate' experience with W&W lasted 5 sessions of IPL. My attending doctor is Dr David Tan. Guess I dun have that 'affinity' with him
