hi cotters! went for my moles removal yesterday at Posh wellness. $50 for each mole.. $30 for consultation fee.. initially i wanted to remove all 5, but Alice says that there's one which look nice.. so i listened to her and remove 4 only.. well save my $$ also.. and i feel that with a mole it adds a bit more character. haha!

They use laser, and the process is very fast.. whole process took less than 5min.. the bigger one took longer time.. the pain is bearable as she won't continuously do on one spot.. can smell chao da.. she gave me some powder to apply at home..

Service is good and friendly.. nice environment also.. they are not pushy at all.. never ask me for facial or other services.. and i think it proofs alot when she ask me not to remove one of the mole.

Anyway, after laser, the moles are still intact.. it will turn into.. 'pi' (hokkien) den drop off within 3 days..touch up is free within 1 mth. Meanwhile, no seafood, no achar (i forgot to ask why.. anyone knows?).. but she say black sauce is fine! still.. i don't want to take the risk..

today, 1 small mole dropped.. and now is abit red red.. like pimple mark.. isit normal? she said that laser will not leave a mark nor a dent.. but now i see like got a dent ***.. hope it's just part of the healing process.. anything i can apply to speed up the healing?

i'm so tempted to remove one of my mole on my right cheek 2 inches away from my eye area! though my hair can cover the mole but i can still see it! however, my doctor advises me not to cos it might re-grow, hence wasting the money.

I had my mole removal in Feb this year. I would highly recommend Dr Patrician Yuen for mole removal.

This is right after the surgery. These 2 moles are removed using laser surgery.

5 months later, the moles completely disappeared !

These 2 moles are removed using punching.

After 5 months, I can still see some depression on the skin.

Dr Yuen actually advised me to do laser for all the moles, but I wanted to try out punching. I should have listened to her advise !

I still think going to the clinics is an expensive option so I check ebay and I found this: Genital Wart HPV Skin Tag Mole Remover Removal 100 Acid. Has anyone tried it or want to try it? We can purchase it together and combine shipping fees if there's any.

    Hi ..

I removed my mole at the hospital this morning and thought I will share my experience here...

My mole is above my lips, protruding and about 2.5mm. After reading through different forums I decide to go to a doctor anyway.

I made an appointment with a doctor at SGH's Plastic surgery and Burn department yesterday and appointment was fixed for today.

After the consultation,my doctor decide that Laser will be the best option.I was opting for incision initially because I wanted a thorough removal of the mole and did not want a recurrence. He suggested laser instead and said laser removal can be as thorough as well and the scar will be like the very very faded zit mark that I have on my cheek instead of a straight line which may be more obvious. I thought about it and felt the former was better and decide to go ahead with the lasering.

I choose to proceed with the surgery immediately after the consultation as I did not want to wait and the procedure room was avaliable. During the procedure, I lay down on a bed much like the kind use for facial and my eyes were covered. The area around the mole was cleaned and I was given a LA jab at the mole area. After waiting for a very short while for the anaesthesia to kick in fully , the doctor proceed with the lasering. I was able to hear a 'zzzz' sound and there was a slight burnt smell. The doctor then apply a thick ointment on it. The entire process took less than ten minutes. The lasering it self just under one minute.

After the procedure, the nurse showed me my mole which they have collected and placed in a container full of a transparent liquid. They told me they will send it for a biopsy.

The service was quick and efficient. My doctor was great. He was patient and friendly and the nurse was pretty friendly and chatted with me to make me less nervous. The lasering was painless. The only part that stings is the jab.

I will suggest everyone to go to a doctor instead of beauty salons. My bill came up to about S$410. I was able to use my medisave and so paid only about S$120 in cash.

I do feel its pretty expensive, especially compared to what some salons charge or GP/estheticians charge, but thats because of the biospy. That alone cost about $100. The Consultation was $61.90, surgeon fee $40 and the rest was for the procedure. However, I would still opt to go to my doctor again even though its pricey. My doctor is a plastic surgeon and I was given good medical advice. I know i was in safe hand and that felt reassuring.

What causes moles? I have some which I already have at birth but others that suddenly popped out during Life. Anyway, it doesn't matter if you have them, as long as they aren't cancerous right?

AlexandraToo: i have several moles on my face and have been contemplating removing 2 bigger protuding ones near my lips for the longest time. how did you find your doctor? was it through GP recommendation?

do you mind PM-ing me the details of your SGH doc.?
    - also, what happens after they send your removed mole to the biopsy?
    - is it to determine if it's cancerous?
    - will there be additional charge or within the same $410 you paid?
    - i didn't know mole removal procedure is covered by medisave, do you have more details/website on that?

    thanks lots for sharing!
