So you went for facials in Bioskin.. What you think of their products? They actually rave on TV commercial that they promise to deliver good clear skin for us.. What's your verdict on this?Originally posted by autumnheart
hey! I was thinking of that too!
When I go to Bioskin at Adelphi for facials, almost all the beauticians have near to clear skins with little blemishes and nice makeup.
When I went to LD that day with my friend to ask some qn, the 3 beauticians we saw have oily nose that shine as though they didn't bother to blot for the whole day.
I do agree that they have rather smooth skin but the complexion is not that fantastic.
Just my observation.
I'm actually quite happy with their facials.Originally posted by Summer27

It's one and a half hours and it's inclusive of head and shoulder massage.
(I heard LD's about an hour - 70mins only)
The only thing that's not in the facial is the extraction of blackheads, which I don't know is it good or bad.
Don't feel "clean" without the extraction (my previous beautician does extraction), but am also afraid that the extraction will cause my pores to be bigger.
So how much is each facial?? Package or??Originally posted by autumnheart

trial is $38, i think, but they will convince you to pay extra for the ampils (sp?).Originally posted by Summer27

the package is buy 5 sessions and get one free, plus buy another 5 at half price.
Luckily I went with my sis, so she paid 650 (6 seesions) and I paid 325 for 5 session.
When we average out, it's about $89 per session (1.5 hrs)
The facial in this package includes:-
- double cleanse
- scrub
- ampils (sp?)
- massage or pressure-point (depending on acne condition)
- 2 layer masks
- shoulder and head massage (during masking)
- tone and moisturise
quite standard I think.
The previous beautician I went to is only $60 per session and also does extraction.
Plus she only do back massage after the mask, so it takes 3 hrs for a facial!!
And she doesn't push sales nor packages.
Too bad she decided to stay at home to take care of kids, so the shop is sold to someone else.
I've yet to try out the new owner.
went to bioskin sometime last year and i didn't like quite a number of things:
1. the therapist was extremely pushy. i opted for a discounted first trial but ended up paying alot more coz she was recommending alot of other stuff. i hate the sound of ampoules. everytime they suggest something like that, i know i got to fork out quite a bit for a tiny tiny tiny amount of liquid.
2. face was extremely red even tho no extractions were done. the extra stuff which she recommended were far too much for my sensitive skin despite me informing her earlier that my skin doesn't take too kindly to too many treatments at a go.
3. after the whole ordeal, she suggested signing up for a package. and i was rather taken aback coz my face was all red and i was obviously displeased with the results, there was no reason for me to sign up with them. i pointed out to her my flamng red cheeks and she suggested i buy a cream from them. i did get the cream in the end becasue i really wanted to get out of that place. i hate being such a pushover.
went home, typed out a letter of complaint. customer service was good though. offered another facial on the house which i declined.
all in all, a rather unpleasant experience. i don't appreciate hard sell and definitely not overpriced services which do not do a thing.
Hi, I just joined clarins as a member and the SA gave me a free trail for their facials. But I don't think I will go for the facials so i was wondering if I can actually transfer the facial to someone?
Also, can anyone give me more feedback on the treatment given at Bioskin. I've searched the site but can't much information on their facials. Am tempted to try them out, because they are opening at Parkway Parade. Walked through roxy square and realised that there are also many facial salons in there. Any that is good? Thanks Gals!![]()
I've been to BioSkin, it's a very hard-sell place... they simply want you to take everything buy everything, and make you pay pay pay!!!
Their consultants are really well trained in pyscho customer... and sweet talking... argh!~~

Hi, i tried bioskin's trial at 38 the one on the their ads. They did cleanse, scrub, used a suction stuff to supposedly remove blackheads. then lastly a mask. In addition they did shoulder and head massages. It was basically relaxing only they did not remove the blackheads though. In addition, they do abit of selling and promo of their skincare line and facial packages which are very expensive. The 2nd time i went was a voucher i bought from them at 48 bucks. It was not good at all, the service level dropped and it was not like the 1st time trial experience in terms of the massages and facial. They skipped the ampoules although it was stated in the voucher that it includes ampules. I know it coz for the 1st time trial i opted for ampoules treatment too. The ending result was not good.Originally posted by edithberri

Such negative feedbacks. Sorry you gals had to go through it.Well, think the place is really not worth going after all. Thanks for your feedbacks!

Do you find that the first facial you have at a particular salon is always really good, then once you've signed on for a package the service gets progressively worse? Like when I first went to Bioskin... was like... wow! But subsequently I always left feeling unsatisfied. (I also don't like the way they apply eyecream as they tend to tug a little at the skin?! And certain occasions I found that they didn't even wash of the remains of the mask thoroughly! Can't even clean off their own products, how to rid my skin of its natural gunk?!) MTM was the same... first visit, my facialist was the supervisor... subsequently was either of her 2 lackeys.
Now I vow never to sign on for packages anymore. So what if it's cheaper if they're not giving me my money's worth. Hard to maintain my resolve when bombarded by all the hard-selling n irresistable promos tho...![]()
edithberri, just not BioSkin. Very very hard sell.
thanks tin tin for your warninghave decided not to go for bioskin, with the addition of warnings from the other lovely cotters. Wouldn't know how to reject them if they do hardsell too  I think i am allergic to dermalogica so i can't go to LD and my present facial salon. So i need to find another around my area.
edithberri, well, maybe you can try Dr X then. It's not as pampering as other facials, but at least they work, and do not hard sell.
I understand about the BioSkin thingy. I went there, and had to buy something just to leave the place. I feel like they will tie me up there until I buy something.
What about small neighbourhood salons? They might do a good job.
BioSkin is highly not recommended.
I would rather go to Leonard Drakes
did a search on bioskin and found pretty much nothing. the search pointed me to this thread but i've no time to read through the 15 (!!!) pages of the thread, so was wondering if anyone might have any comments on bioskin?
FYI, the suntec branch (IIRC) is offerring $18 facials and i'm pretty tempted.
reason being, i still have a few microdermabrasion sessions left and my beautician has said that it is necessary to perform a facial after each microdermabrasion session.i think her facials are pretty expensive ($100+) and some hard selling at the end, so i want to switch facialists and not sign on for anymore programs.
