Sorry to butt in but sunscreen level can't be double. Like putting SPF30 for 2 layers won't become SPF60. Still SPF30. (ie. SPF30 then another layer of SPF15 is still SPF30) Is it what you mean?

Mm....a bit confusing of this "touch-up sunscreen layer".
Anyway, advice to beach / snow areas is: Apply water & sweat resistance sunscreen with at least SPF30 PA+++ to have almost 97% sun protection. For the remaining 3%, u can still be protected by not expose to the Sun directly from 10am to 4pm, especially 10a.m. to 12pm. The UV light is the strongest from 10a.m. to 12pm. U can use umbrella to filter the light or hide in the shelter areas.

Most important: reapply the sunscreen at least after 4 hrs, not matter how water & sweat resistance the sunscreen is, the layer will be thinner after several hrs. This is proven, ok, no kidding... :shout:

For normal day, sunscreen with SPF15-20 & PA++ is enough for the protection as SPF 15-20 is able to reflection about 93% of the UV light.

that is not what i mean. it means to reapply after around 3-4 hours.

    spf15+spf15 not equal to spf30

    hi caramelgirl,

I'm using Clinique's Active white series spot concentrate.
It helps to lighten my freckles after a few application , but have not erase them off my face, not sure if it's able to totally clear away freckles.

    babes,

Me too.. i have freckles on my cheeks and nose since i was a child.

hate it when my pals call me Strawberry Shortcake coz Freckles are cute for now and i am concerned when they turn to pigmentation in the long run, that's the last thing my face needs.

I am presently using Biotherm White Detox Essence, mb its too short a while to see effects, hopefully i see them soon.
I have also tried Fair & Lovely, i felt my freckles did lighten a bit but my friends said No
tried the Estee lauder White light series, also no effect, SK2 Deep whitening also no effect.

Seems like i got sturborn freckles that insist on staying on my cheeks. :sotong:

demigoddess1512, I think laser surgery or IPL/FPL/EPL can lighten freckles/other pigmentations permanently. I got several freckles on my cheeks too. Most of the whitening products can't lighten them, e.g. SKII Whitening Source.

I am thinking to go to Derma-X for S$150 FPL for the cheek areas only. Maybe u can consider too.

demigoddess1512, welcome. S$150 for both cheeks are reasonable for me, however, u have to go for 4-6 sessions to see the results. Then, the cost will be S$600-900. This made me to think twice. If I got sponsor (from my bf), I definitely will go for it.

In fact, some cotters mentioned before that those freckles will lighten themselves if u use the whitening products regularly.

    Hi Shon,

HEHE, BF?? idea ??? but tends to runs away each tiem i get close to the skincare/makeup departments.

Guess 4 every pdt there is no such thing as instant
Guess we have to adopt the wait and see methos to see if the pdt is effective.

demigoddess1512, what u can do now is to use whitening products + sunscreen (in daytime). I think the freckles will not be darker if u protect ur skin well, then the chance of lightening is higher. Just be patient.

I did IPL for pigmentation...while they did lighten somewhat but it wasn't a miracle. So do consider carefully if you want to spend the money.

hi, i did fpl at derma rx and my freckles and spots did lighten. a few of my freckles are completely gone (smaller ones) but the larger ones are lighten slightly. you need several sessions to see results.

i'm using whitening products as well and they do help in lightening your freckles if you use it religiously. also, using whitening products help me to even out my skin tone.

So is Laser treatment still the best? Coz some of you mentioned that IPL & FPL don't lighten the freckles totally. I know laser treatment can remove them totally.... I heard this from a friend who works as a nurse in a private hospital.

True, got to consider carefully before goin to the FPL. However even after the laser treatment is done, freckles will still return if one dont take care correct??

Of course, sunscreen + whitening products cannot be missed out if u want clear fair skin.
