What exactly do you want to test? Blood pressure, cholesterol level etc? I had my tests done at my company designated clinic but I think you can get these tests done at polyclinic (shouldnt cost too much).
But specific test such as pap smear must go to gyne, not too sure GP does that. =)

There are several clinics like Raffles Medical Clinic which have health check packages. Why don't you check those up? Try googling for a link to Raffles Medical. Heard from a friend of mine that a full body check package is in the $300 region.

As for how often you have to do these checks will depend on your first health report and your health status. For a normal 20 - 40 years old, I should think once every 1 to 3 years should suffice. For those who are older, they may want to stick to yearly checks for earlier detection of any possible anomalies.

Wanted to check with you ladies that what are the basic checkups that a woman should go for?

Great thread I am wanting to bring my mom for full medical checkup now and its nice to hear that Raffles medical offers a full detailed package.
My mom does not want to go to the polyclinic ones (not sure why though).

Was wondering if alexandra hospital has a package too.

You can ask your usual GP to recommend what kind of tests he/she thought you need and which hospitals you want to go. I believe private hospital would charge more than public hospitals. So maybe do not need to spend so much for a normal checkup, usually specialist checkup then require private hospital.

My husband and I go to the Health Screening Center at SGH. They are very through and I like that they are pretty efficient as well. They've got a variety of packages to choose from that differs according to factors such as age and gender.

    Hi All,

In fact, I did have a attempt to have a full body check up at one of the poly clinics. In the end, only had a lot of blood test (e.g Hep A/B) As the doctor said it was unneccessary of people who are under 35. Unless they have a weight problem or have family members suffering from soemthing or other.

Then when I had my company checkup, everything came out fine. I think unless you have soemthing to be concern for, or you intend to have a kid soon. Then go for a check up.

    Cheers

I went to have my acne treatment and found that there is medical centre in lucky plaza that also got healthchecks. I just came back to singapore so want to have a check-up. Just happen same place have so quite convenient.

Havent compared price yet so dunno which one is cheaper. Raffles? SGH?

I took some brochures from asia health partners medical centre but looks ex...the nurse there told me that they have new machine but i just want something basic so i am shopping around. Just need blood test and pap smear and dun want to do all tests but when i was there quite crowded and alot of people doing.

I think got long queue so i didnt see the doctor for advice.for what test for my agegroup...my face also very red from laser so I quickly go home....
