Very pissed off by this nail shop at AMK Central. pls boycott and dont ever go there !
I went last friday to this shop "Elila Beauty" At amk central (Near S-11 there / jubilee there)
their express mani only $5. but when me & my fren went in, they spam hard sell package, classic and even pedicure. the girl even put water at the basin and almost put my leg in until i tell her i only want mani.
after spam hard sell, i decided to try classic mani and also as for nail extension for one of my broken nail. i was sort of shock cause they extend using fake nails and not even gel/acrylic . then nevermind, the two girl that did our nails did very poorly. firstly, she cut my nails until its in-proportional,i had to tell her so many time till she finally get it right.
Then, she spam say my nail so long, so pretty should add some flowers, 3d, etc. So as im a student w/ budget, i asked for the price, and its $2.50 for a BIG Flower, so i went ahead with it. But imagine the shock i was when they bring this SMALL Flower and just glue it on to my nails !! (not even drawn on!)
And then, after Coating, GLUE-ed on, they dont even have the decent machine to DRY ur nails. All they have was this "fan" which is what my aunt's baby uses to sleep.. she uses it to dry our nails, and we have to share it (me + my fren) and theres no TOP COAT !
Then the shop owner , a CHINA LADY, spammed hard sell of this "New taiwan body glitter" and this CHINA LADY even spam call my fren "Mei nu" , so in the end my fren tried, and we spent $28 each (1 nail extend, 2 nail art, classic mani)
Today, i realised i left my H&M Ring at their shop, and got my mum to go down to collect. Imagine how shock i was when my mum told me over the phone the CHINA LADY (OWNER) was wearing my ring. Come on, its a customer's ring and you are bloody wearing it !!! and theres even nail polish stain on my ring. so i am dam pek ce.k and called her and sort of complain . guess what she says? "i didnt wear your ring, only put it in my finger awhile cause i scare later its lost. is good that you get your ring back, if not you wont even get it back" how rude is that ! come on, i dont owe her for a living, im even letting her earn my money and this is how she treats a customer? but what is even worst is , she asked my mum "is your daughter the one fat fat de? together with her fat fat friend?" < This is really too much. I mean come on, when u hard sell, you called us mei nu and now after earning our money, we are fat? and no offence. my Fren is a UK10 And im a Uk12. Personally i don't feel that we are really that fat until she described using "Fat Fat" , and after i called and complained, she hanged down on my phone (after telling me its all her workers fault and not hers) .
now im praying that the nail polish would get cleaned off my ring and will certainly wash my ring at least a 100times before wearing it. If not i guess i've have to throw it away and buy a new one when go overseas. seriously. i hate this type of services ! BOYCOTT!![]()

I dont agree with you. I use to do my manicure and pedicure at AMK area. Becos nearby my house. I did try alots of manicure in different shop at AMK. Let me ask you 1 thing which shop never try to promote their package? Almost all the shop do so if u dun believe go and try it out.
There are a few type of nail extension do you tell the manicurist clearly? Cos by glueing fake nail is the cheapest of the few type.
I'm a regular customer of that shop u mention. i did purchase their package @$280 for 13 times classic mani n pedi. After complete i renew again but @$380 they told me $280 promotion over.
$380 for 13 time i feel still ok. Thats y i renew it.
Price rage-ok
Service-80/100
If that shop really that bad as u sounds y always full house?
If you really need to wash your ring 100 times i think u better throw away.
Lastly if fat admit it.
If u like that place u will go again,if not dont go thts all i have to say.
Sorry for saying all that but no offence.
It's been quite sometime since I posted something on CC. No relation to that shop in AMK or hazeee whatsoever, but words from this person cindycindy obviously proved Hazeee right. I have a tendency not to believe in a newbie posting defensive messages for a shop/blogshop and what's more her English is o.0
Next time, just go to one which is more reputable not those dodgy ones that are probably opened by a few China ladies pooling in money together to cheat people's money. You never know if their so-called "OPI" nail polish is real or not. Yucks.
I guess a lesson learn: cheap not = good deal.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience Hazeee!
*** so bad huh.. but central got super many salons.. so you kind of get pulled in.. just like in China!
keltoh: hahaha! er I walked in AMK no one pull me hmm. then just walk away ***. chances are they will forget they saw you anyway, don't need give face.
I bought a voucher for Mani & Pedi from Groupon.
$30 for Classic Mani Pedi + Sea Salt Treatment + Personalized Buffer & Files (Worth $67)
My appointment was at 615pm. I reached there on the dot. 2 manicurists + 1 lady boss there.
1 manicurist was doing nails for 2 girls while i waited for the 2nd one. Meanwhile, the lady boss pass me some color charts. I waited like 10mins for the 2nd manicurist to attend to me.. The lady boss was walking around.. Seems quite free... So i wonder why can't she help to at least fill the water.. Or remove the color on my toes/fingers first...
Anyway, the 2nd manicurist started doing my feet. Then i thought maybe after the 1st manicurist is done, she will proceed with my hand. But i was wrong. I have to wait till my manicurist to finish my feet before she continue doing my hands.
I asked her, only 2 staffs ? She said yes.. I told her this is a totally waste of time. Usually, they will do hand and feet simultaneously. 2 manicurists for 1 person if the customer is doing both hands and feet. And all these while, the lady boss was very free. So i really don't know why she can't help out a bit.
After she've done my toes, nobody brought any blower for my feet. + my manicurist was complaining to me that she started work at 11am all the way until now (which is about 715pm by then). And she was like rushing things through and when applying top coat, 1 of my fingernail got some cotton stuck on it. She tried to salvage it by dabbing some nail polish remover on top of it but it was quite bad. So she removed it totally + repaint.
Immediately after she paint the color, she wanted to put topcoat. I told her no, the color is not dry yet but she says it is ok. End up, the color was smudge. Only then she agreed that it wasn't dry enough to add top coat. So, she have to remove it again, repaint AGAIN. This time round, the 1st manicurist brought me the blower and my manicurist let me blow my hands before applying topcoat on the problematic finger.
5mins after blowing, i took 1 of my hand out, for her to apply topcoat on my problematic nail. And then, she just took away the blower while my other hand was still blowing.
Is it reasonable to let the customer just blow 5mins for her hands ? Will it be dry enough ? It was 8pm then. I know that they wants to go home. But it wasn't my fault that they don't have enough staff to do both hands + feet together so that we could finish earlier isn't it ????
I heard the lady boss saying to the other customer that, she just took over this place.. So it makes me wonder what is her intention of selling this voucher on Groupon ?? Isn't it to create awareness + trying to win new customers ?
Then why is the service like that ? There are so many nails salon at Roxy + their price are not really cheap either. So i wonder what makes them think that people will still go back to them.
Anyway.... I just treat it as, pay $35, so of course get $35 type of service ! That's all about this Queens Nails.

i have been to places where they offered deals but they are still doing the full job
and i signed up package or continued to patronise after that.

Normally, only 1 manicurist do my hands and feet.
KAWAYI Beauty Nail Salon at AMK is by far the worst salon I have being to!!
I also bought coupon from groupon for classic mani & padi. When I go there, the whole salon is PRCs. The one seems like the lady boss grab my hands and started to remove my nail polish for me in a very rough manner and never even remove completely.
She cut my cuticle after soaking my hand for 30s. Then she started to complain my hands are dirty with lots of dead skin. While in fact I just had classic mani & pedi two weeks ago.
Then the PRC girl doing my pedi made a big fuss about my deformed toe nail as she said it was badly infected with fungus. I then tried to explain its not fungus as I previously knocked my toe against the stairs and I even visited a doc to have the old one removed and he said it is normal for the new nail to be deformed. To my horror, the PRC girl shouted," Which doc is that? He got no eyes ah! It's confirm fungus!" (I was really too tired to argue with her and I dont want to bring myself down to her level, so I just kept quiet.) Then she tried to sell me the fungus lotion...-.-
Throughout the whole session, they are either making mean comments or trying to hard sell me their package. And they complete the whole session of classic mani & pedi in less than 1 hr and "chase me out" without giving me enough time to dry my nails!
Please dont go there. They have nothing good to offer, not even their skills. I can apply the polish better than them.
why need to do 2 postings?
i also got bad experience at far east plaza 5th lvl near the toilet. i walk pass i see 3 gals sitting legs wide open for a moment i thinking is that a manicure salon or something else. i stand outside there looking at the prices wanted to get a extention for my broken nail i walk in and i heard them mumbling ' pls don cme in, pls don cme in" i mean i am a potential customer yet their service lvl sux. so i ask 1 of the staff how much if i wanna do gel extention *** gelish color she say cannot ur nails too short i explained i know i wanna do extention she say cannot la not enough ppl" 3 gals sitting there don wanna do so fine i walk off i went opposite there is *** salon call autunm nails if i not wrong and got my nails done there when i finish i walk pass the 3 gals doin their own nails in the shop. i wonder the boss of *** salon knows wats going on in the shop or not... and i am 100% sure its open by a singaporean... my motive is not to destroy their reputation but if anyone wanna do nails in far east jus beware for *** outlet.
Went for gel manicure service at this home-based nail salon at Bukit Panjang and had a very bad experience due to the manicurist's bad service attitude.
As it is my very first time in having my nails done, i get a bit tensed up and the manicurist got really impatient with me when i fidget a little (not on purpose as i did not even realize that i was doing so). Her service attitude is really bad, very impatient even though i have to admit that her skills are pretty good and her salon was also featured on channel 8 show "HDB tai tai". I would really wanted to go back for her good manicure skills but this is gonna be the first and last time i will be there....Just a piece of advice to you people who are looking for places to do their manicure - Please do not go there as the service is really bad. Her face is as black as charcoal THROUGHOUT. I came in a good mood but went off in a very bad mood.
Anyways, the name is J Love Nail; you all can find it on Facebook.
Just want to share my bad experience i've had at Chewton Glen at Holland Shopping Center #03-14.
I've been to many manicure/pedicure shops at Holland Shopping Center. One of my favourite shop is Serentiy Cove at Holland Shopping Center and maybe a few other that is not worth mentioning.
I've came to know Chewton Glen from Groupon.
My bad experience with them starts from 5 Dec 11.
I've bought 3 sessions of 90 min Classic Gelish Mani + 3 Soak offs + choice of polish graduation tone (groupon voucher).
On my 1st visit on 5 Dec 11, i was rather unhappy that Chewton Glen informed me that there should be only 1 soak off on my next visit instead of 3 soak off. Chewton Glen insist that it was an error from Groupon and asked me to take up with Groupon although i insist that Chewton Glen should honour this and take up with Groupon separately but they insisted that I shall settle with Groupon on this. Pointless to argue further and to spoil my mood on this, i reluctantIy shall pursue this with Groupon.
Thereafter Chewton Glen sell me a package which I've agreed on a manicure and pedicure package because of their attractive package and relatively okay service. I have paid $100 on 5 December 11 and the balance credit left is $77 after my first payment.
I have some disagreement with Chewton Glen as they failed to deliver any services to my friends on 18 December and the lady boss, KohAnn gave very bad attitude to my friends. I've suggested a refund of the $77, KohAnn refused. Now KohAnn (with her hostile and rude tone) refused to allow me to utilise the balance $77 credit for ala carte services too. KohAnn was adamant and only agree to service me only if i top up the balance $150 or my balance credit of $77 will be forfeited. I have already lost confidence with Chewton Glen and do not wish to continue their further service.
How can a company in Singapore can do this to a consumer who can forfeit my deposit for refusal to deliver service to me?
Helpless consumer
