manicure provides more than just filing of nails.
i only been to a pedicure once with a friend who did manicure..
they soak your hands/feets till the cuticle is soften.
then they will soft the cuticle in and remove any dirt in ur nails and trim your nails nicely. then they go on to file your nails till pink and nice, then they will apply base coat, nail polish of your choice and then top coat.
Heh heh heh, anyone for a LA MER pedicure?? I wanna try this, at least ONCE in my life!Joce??

Yah. For $150, that's about the price of the small tub of CDLM.Originally posted by kare2711

Sure!
Yes!
Yes!! Regular pedicures will remove accumulated layers of dead skin. However it is important to find a good pedicurists. Bad ones will scrub too vigourously at your soles and cause inflammation or infection instead.
The bottomline: go to a reputable salon, make sure they sterilize their tools, and if treatment hurts, don't be afraid to say so! Your technician may be inexperienced and not realise she's hurting you!
It's also important to regularly buff / exfoliate your heels and pamper them with an intensive moisturizer. Our feet are the most used and abused parts of our body which we tend to neglect. Give them the TLC they deserve!![]()
P.S. If it's any incentive to start taking care of your heels....a famous designer (forgot who), when asked once which part of a woman he looks at first, replied, "Her heels. Because a woman can be dressed to the nines and look perfect, but if her heels are neglected, it shows she doesn't know how to take care of herself properly and I wonder what lies beneath all that makeup and fine clothes". Or words to that effect!![]()
I have a question to ask our experts here. How long do I need to keep my nails before going for a manicure/ pedicure? I hate to keep my nails (especially toe nails) long, but would like to pamper them.
Don't think there is a thing with how long your nails should be unless you want to do nail art?Originally posted by baby_j

Well, if nails are too short I guess they'd be difficult to shape properly? Plus, vivid nail colours wouldn't look so good on short nails.Originally posted by Dimples

I would say...as long as the tips of your nails are no shorter than the tips of the flesh of your toe, it should be fine. In other words, nails shouldn't be cut into the toe but should just cover the toe.
Actually can pumice be use daily? Won't it be too harsh? What about applying a rich foot cream and then wearing socks before you sleep. Maybe it'll keep your feet moisturised.Originally posted by ponine
heh.. thanxs for enlightening !![]()
Any good pedicurists to recommend ?
I'm not sure if i should go now because my feet is painful from the crack. Should i ? Or wait until the crack has healed ?
Sighz.. i'm not sure why i keep getting thickened heels. I know i wear those open-air shoes often ... can cause much dryness to the feet but i exfoliate them daily in the shower with a pedicure stone. but it dun seem to work since the crack heels still come back to haunt me. I wonder if it's eczema ? :sotong:
Not sure if anyone heard about Nail Secrets at Le Meridien shopping centre #02-47 ?
I know the boss and was told that her manicurist does provide home manicure ($10) and pedicure (forgotten) services for a group. Perhaps this can be included in our next gathering?
it definitely helps by using that methods and it works for my very dry heels. You can try this "Aloe All Over" from TV media. This cream really tide me over my dread and dry feets days. And results really lasted despites i dun use it regularly.Originally posted by Dimples

What is included in the manicure service? My friend went for one last month, but was told to pay extra for shaping and polishing of my nails. She ended up paying a total of nearly $50 for the manicure.
i've only had mani-s at PINC and Hollywood Secrets (which was an exp i dont ever wanna repeat!). been loyal partially because im always loyal to stuff i like and i dont like the risk of trying new stuff, but also because the staff at PINC are very friendly. it's really a cosy experience, which should be popular with the people here!
quite affordable too... try requesting for Kim if you go to the MidPoint Orch branch!
