Their service is generally not bad i think, cos constantly, there are customers walking in, doing pedi/mani. My point of view is, they are able to do NORMAL mani/pedi but i am sure their skills for gel infill/gel nails, is really very very bad. Maybe i can say, they are not even train to do it.
I went to do my hair at Twister and i was very late for my nails appt at somewhere else. So the hairstylist at Twister recommend me to BEAUTY & HER NAILS. I was a bit skeptical, but still went ahead. This is how i gauge if a salon is good - IF they have tons of nail art charts, means they are good cos after all, not all newbies can do 3D/ nice artwork..
When i was outside Beauty & Her Nails, i asked to see their nail art chart. I told myself, if their nail arts are very limited, i shall go elsewhere. But the supervisor keeps telling me that she'll show me later. So i went in, and this manicurist, DENISE, start to file my nails.
FYI, i was having gel nails with 3D nail art at that point of time, and i wish to do infill + 3D nail art.
To get rid of those 3D nail arts/filing off gel to prepare for infill, USUALLY manicurist will use nail file/buff with lower grit(usually used for artificial nails). But this lady DENISE, use a nail file which was quite fine. Which means, it takes a longer time to get rid of the 3D nail art. She attempted to use cuticle nipper to take off the 3D nail art too but the way she use it, you'll know she is inexperience. Cos after all, she still use the nail file to buff it off instead of nipping it off which will be faster. And while filing, she file my skin for don't know how many times. Imagine the pain ??
MS DENISE took 1hour, to file off everything on my left hand. Seriously. Usually i only need 1 and a half hours, to do my infill + 3D nail art. I step into this nail salon and 430pm, and by 645pm, she finished my infill and a simple french.
Let's talk about her skills now. The infill is simply unacceptable. So uneven. So thick even my husband who rarely comment on my nails said they look like mushrooms and asked me to get rid of it ASAP. They have only 2 pathetic pages of ridiculous nail art so i opted for the simplest french and yet, it turn out like S***. So that was the last straw, i voice my unhappiness to the supervisor.
I told her that i am very surprised because her staff took almost 2nhalf hours to do a simple infill + french. i asked her, how long usually it'll take. She answered me 1 n half. I showed her the french and infill DENISE did and asked her if that was acceptable. She said no and added she knows very well what is the standard of her staff's job. I told her very directly that i will not go back again, but i feel that i have to voice out my unhappiness, so that she can make sure none of the customers who go there will experience this again. And while i was doing that, some of her other staffs were staring at me, giving the look - see, another fussy customer. ZzZzZzz
She apologized profusely, she knows that i have a plane to catch and was very sorry that i was so late. So she quickly painted a new set of french for me. Which FYI, not very ideal also but i was late, so i couldn't care much. She charge me $30 for that visit, and told me to come again after im back from my trip and she'll get a very good manicurist to do a new set of infill for me FREE.
I know its out of goodwill or to appease customer so she offered a free redo. But sorry, i have got no confidence anymore. So what if it is FREE ? I won't go back. And also, since she knows the standard of her staff, she knows they are not up to it, then why in the 1st place they accepted this job ?? this is really very irresponsible of them. We pay for the service. Not there to let the staffs do training on our nails.
So.... That is why i say, IF you want to do a normal mani/pedi, go ahead but if you wana do artificial nails, this is not a right place to go.
