hi, i probably won't order snacks while doing my nails. because i try to minimize my body movement while doing my nails to prevent any hiccups on the nail designs.

drinks, perhaps yes, but kinda trouble some. you'll probably going to see many customers smudging their nails arts and expect you to repaint for them again.

Swingme - i started out with only 30 bottles of OPI. i bought very basic stuffs with less than $1.5K i think, can't remember. initially i provide door-step services, it didn't work too well for me, so now ppl come to my place. but i do know some manicurists are doing pretty well providing door-steps service.

corporate meaning i work for other organisations who like to engage nail services for short term. eg. will be offices, schools, fun fairs, commercial photo-shots, even cosmetic brands etc... it's very interesting i would say.

yup, around that $$. i bought 30 bottles of OPI,
    a nail dryer,
    a dozen to towels from Ikea;
and basic stuffs (which i already had while attending basic nail course) like lotion,
    scrub,
    16oz polish remover,
    16oz top and base coat,
3 nail files of different grides,
    a manicure bowl,
    2 cuticle strimmer,
    1oz cuticle oil,
    16oz cuticle softener,
    foot file,
    100pcs orange stick,
    some nail stickers etc...

that time, i don't even know what's acrylic/gel, so i did not buy these expensive chemicals.

then i created a simple web-site for this little biz, sat down and wait for luck, heehee....

I feel like starting a nail parlour too. My friends are doing so well, but i have no experience at all. Nail polish are so cheap, and they charge so much for just mani and pedi. Imagine the profit they can earn. No wonder she can afford to buy a chanel bag every month.

    Hi All,

Just wondering, how much is the basic and commission (10% more or less) for junior techs and senior techs like? Also, do people usually provide commission to the nail techs for packages signed and services done from the package? What is the no. of days of leave allowed, working hours and other benefits like for nail techs.

    Thanks!

I'm planning to start a nail service business and is looking for nail colour supplies. What brands should I consider besides OPI, Essie and ChinaGlaze? Can any nail salon owners here tell me what is the typical wholesale price/discount for nail polishes from suppliers? I am trying to do calculate my upfront costs, so any information will help!

    TIA!

    Home Nail Salon

I just joined in this forum. I'm am working full time and I am aspiring to have my own salon in the future. I'm so privilege to see this forum. It'll be a great help for me as I venture myself to another journey.

To those who have Home Based nail Salon, do you need to apply for license? Or do you even have to inform your landlord you're opening a Home Based Salon every weekend or after office hours if your just renting an HDB or Condo or this is againts the law?

    Please enlighten me!

    Hiyee,

How are you all? What is the ideal size of a nail saloon? Is 300sqft too big? HOw much would a basic renovation of 2 pedicure seat and 2 manicure seat cost?

    Thank you for your time
