    Default OPI Nail Polishes

    Hi!

    Anyone has good recs for OPI nail polishes.

    I'm looking for something light nudish pink for fingers and maybe a lightly darker nude pink for toes....

    Or any other rec that u think will go with champagne beige dress and biege shoes.

    What about Samoan Sand for fingers??

    I find Samoan Sand disappointingly... nude. VERY CLEAR, kinda like clear polish just a tinge bit of beige tint. I didn't detect any pink. But nice in its way

    This looks similar to OPI Dulce de Leche. This one is also one of my fave. It's creamy, maurve.

    Are you doing French mani and pedicure? You should opt for this. Then choose Essie colors that Pan has rec. I regret not doing this for my ROM.

    Aww.. now I'm gonna regret all those OPI n/p I swapped for! Hmm... I didn't really fancy Samoan Sand, but VAMPIRE STATE BUILDING kicks ass (Ok, it's actually the name ). Consistency's uneven though... 8O

    Ah but at what price

    I asked my manicurist how much a bottle of OPI nailpolish was at their salon. $22 SGD was the answer.

    Ouch!

    yep, ridiculous pricing, esp when it is sold for under US$10 in the US.

    I the names! That alone would be an incentive to wear them. My take:

    * NUDES *
    Samoan Sand-
    very glossy, slightest beige tint and that's it (ie. near colourless). Ok name.
    Queen of the Nile-
    a notch deeper than my nails (the nailbed area not the tips), kinda my-nails-but-better colour (how did they do that?), medium sheer, slight shimmer. Very low-key (makes me wonder if I should bother), esp. flattering for short nails (manicure rather than pedicure I feel). Ok name.

    * PEACHES, PINKS, ROSE *
    Nomad's Dream/ Shanghai Shimmer/ Chicago Champagne Toast/ Argenteeny Pinkini-
    Nomad's more peach (that flashes pink), more frosty, more shimmery, version of Queen. Nice name!
    Shanghai's as frosty, as shimmery but more cool pink version of Nomad. Taupe undertones. Ok name!
    Chicago Champagne Toast's as frosty, as shimmery but more cool pink version of Shanghai. Great name!
    Argenteeny's more sheer, less frosty, more candy-pink version of Shanghai. Don't like the name much.
    All are shimmery peach/ pink tones. Sheesh, this is a situation pretty much like having several nice (but fairly similar- I mean, bf wldn't be able to tell which colour if I changed day to day) shades of peach/ pink blusher? I like them all but does it justify keeping them all?
    Sonora Sunset- Shimmery rose with coral.
    Japanese Rose Garden- Hot pink fushcia, no shimmer. Don't think I could carry this off, so not me.

    * REDS *
    Vampire State Building Think of vampire blood (ie. blood that's dark... no shimmer). Kick-ass name too. (I think I like this almost as much as EA Plum Shimmer). The name plays a huge role.

    * SPECIAL CATEGORY *
    Nutcracker Sweet- Such an interesting colour! GREY BASE! But definite sheen of peachy-pink. Think of those DREAMY dresses- light grey gossamer organzas with an undercoat of pink. Not enough shine/ gloss though (or maybe it's just less percitibly glossy compared to others). Optional topcoat of glitter (I was apprehensive, I've NEVER used glitter before cos it's rather OTT to me... but this isn't)! So fine and in different colours, the whole effect is what I would think that (I forget her name, the actress was Michelle Pff... can't spell either) the Queen would wear in Midsummer Night's Dream. Weirdest thing is this came as an extra and I'm liking it more than the TAMER (abit boring, everything kinda looks nudey-pinky-peachy-understated for MANICURE rather than pedicure) colours I chose. Had chosen them trawling thru PV, duh. Oh, of course I love the name!

    Shall get rid of:
    Samoan Sand, Chicago Champagne Toast, Argenteeny Pinkini, Japanese Rose Garden.
    Trying to get hold of:
    I'm Not A Waitress, Bogatta Blackberry and maybe 1 or 2 more red/ plum colours!
    Any recs for:
    Nutcracker STYLE colours? A more fun-ish colour?
    Silly qn:
    I don't supposed they cld be stored upside down (the polish would encrust the cover?) Kinda a pain to have to turn them upside down to see their names.

    Hi Kelly, this brand is not available in Singapore, maybe that's why its all the more highly coveted? anyway OPI is known to have the best nail polishes in the world? their colours are really pretty...not forgettin their nice names and very long lasting...you really should give it a try..its only available in certain nail salons
