thanks girls! i love my ring too! it was under the 60% discount range at taka. actually they had a similar rose gold one (0.53c) which i really liked but the salesperson kept promoting this one saying that the diamond color is nicer and bigger (and more expensive!) !

Taka's diamond quality is not v. good. U can see the difference when placed side-by-side with a good value diamond. But its 'value for $', u can get quite a big diamond for a low price

dh proposed on my 23rd birthday (it wasnt much of a surprise as i chose the ring myself )
but nontheless i'm so happy he proposed

esq, i think u need to switch on your 'marco" function in your digi cam if it has. =)
this function is used to capture clear & close-up thing in the photo. hehe.. I learnt this from my friend who's a photographer, and it helps! keke.. must also remember to 'off' your flash ^_^

whichever angle i took it didnt come up nice at all

when i chose the ring i told the SA i do not want a solitaire
he told me "where got proposal ring dont have solitaire one!"

Its a Birks (canadian) amorique engagement ring. oddly enough, i get comments on its size while in canada, but in america i get comments on its clarity and cut since 1+ carats are not uncommon here (but of not so great specs).

i've seen 1 carats go for 3K USD here of (SI and I - J-K colour - strong florescence - fair-poor cut).

the band is just a plain plat band, it gets a patina quickly from its tendancy to rotate on my finger through the day, the engagement ring is always face up so it stays polished, but the underside looks just as patina'd as the band.

everyone has such nice pretty hands! i'm so jealous!

aw, thanks guys. my hands are so full of lines though! i need a better moisturizer! i never even noticed how bad it was until i saw all the other pics with soft young hands. that's my punishment for cracking my knuckles all through my teens.
