you definitely need to go to a jeweler you know and trust. after setting, depending on the setting and where the inscription is, you may be able to see the serial number with a loupe. as an alternative, you can ask the jeweler to plot out the inclusions in the diamond when they receive the stone from you. then after setting, you can look through a loupe or microscope to verify if it is the same stone.
if you don't know of any jewelers, you can try gary from brilliant opals at international plaza. they are open only during office hours and only by appointment on sats.
I did this before
I electroplate my white chain to rose gold
Yah, can electroplate. Price varies from shop to shop. Just get a reputable shop to do it. I think Sookee does it (saw that option on their service chit before) or try your neighbourhood goldsmith shops.
Gold price is very high now... resetting items will cost quite a bit as well.
At gold heart they do, but not sure if they are doing for items not purchased under their brand. I wanted to purchase a 18K (Yellow) chain, but the design i liked comes in rose goldtTey offer to do it like for $15 only
Why don't u go back to e shop where u did ur purchase?
