Dishonest Contractor - Power Sense Enterprise

Recently encounter a very dishonest and unethical contractor. The staff Alice Cheong extremely thick skin and unethical in cheating an old man in letting her in to check the ceilling conditions of the toilet. She told the old man "Uncle, yr ceiling is cracking. You better get it repair else if the ceiling drop it will DROP and KILL you. Is there no ethic in contracting business? How can the lady threathen and scared an old man like this? Now we are giving 50% discount to senior citizens so it only cost you S$250. Don't worry we got guarantee one. Our company is register one." No matter how hard this old man tries to chase the lady out of the house saying he is unemployed. He has no $. He needs to consult his children but the lady refused to leave and insist the old man have the toilet ceiling repaired. She even created an order list. The old man being ignorant, worried about the safetly of his family members and in order to get rid of the lady finally sign. When his children came back and realise that such things happened, immediately check out the toilet ceiling. But there was nothing wrong with it. The children called the contractor to ask for a refund of deposit. The lady Staff was so fierce and turn the words round to protect her backside saying that it was the old man who willingly wanted to repair and sign the order form. The children finds that it pointless to talk to her so called the boss. The boss, Hong is even worse promised to return the $ to the old man by delivering it to his place in the end keep insisting that the old man go down to his shop and collect. Old man have no idea how to go to the ulu shop. Hong claimed that his staff are all so busy. Wonder is it busy cheating old people by scaring them that the ceilling will drop and kill you. Hong felt guilty and hang up on the old man. Now Hong dont dare to ans the old man's call. Any advise on how to help this old man?

Is it possible to lodge a police report on this? Not sure if this can be classified as a cheating case.. it's horrible to think that people nowadays will even go to the extent of cheating old folks' money... tsk.. tsk.. I think it may help to get somebody (preferably an english- speaking, well- dressed man) to go down on behalf of the old man to speak to the boss.. He may be pressured to return the money you tell him that the family intends to seek help from the authorities if they refuse to refund as it is considered cheating. Don't mean any disrespect to old uncles but those cheats may have more respect for people who come across as knowledgeable about the law to them and may be pressured to give in more easily than if you were to speak to them in dialect, wearing bermudas and slippers... HTH..

I think there is a chance of making police report because the person is purposely scarying the man by using strong words. its as good as cheating $. Make a police case. Then, complain to HDB and MP.

Bring them to CASE and worse come to worse write to the newspapers...
let the whole world know what this company is doing to poor old folk...
fancy taking advantage of their ignorance.
