Hi everyone another question I would like to ask is, is it true that you will not get pregnant while on Norethisterone? Because the doctor told me there will be no egg for the sperm to fertilize. Thank you!![]()
Hi Shannon..about your first question, what i've heard is that moderate amounts of alcohol shouldn't decrease its effectiveness much, since it's hormonal and alcohol doesn't really affect that. Not too sure, really, you should ask your GP.
About your second question, I've heard that it's still likely, though a lot less likely. If you take the pills before your egg leaves the ovaries then yeah, there's no egg to fertilise. But I've heard that sperm can stay active inside a woman's womb area for up to 3 days, so if you stop soon after, there is still a possibility. Nothing's 100%, I think...
Anyway, wanted to ask a question of my own: anyone here tried to induce her menstruation by drinking cooling drinks and eating cooling foods? Have heard that it's possible to make it come a little earlier by doing so..anyone know of this?
Any updates or new medication on this?
I'm sorry I cannot help much about temporarily stopping menstruation. What my gyno told me is that if you are on contraceptive pills, you can continue taking the pills without taking the placebos to stop menstruation temporarily.
On the other hand,

I heard that you can do it by drinking parsley tea. Here is some information that I got
"If you are irregular, or suffer from PMS, taking two cups of False Unicorn Root tea every day for the second half of your cycle (from ovulation to menstruation) will help regulate your hormones. This is a long treatment, taking about four months to take full effect but has lasting. Herbs that induce menstruation are called emmenogugues. Two such herbs are parsley and ginger. If your period is late or you skipped a period, two or more cups of strong tea from these herbs should induce menstruation in a few days if it is taken during or after the regular time menstruation is expected. I prefer parsley because it has fewer side effects. Ginger can cause hot flashes and restlessness. If you want to delay your cycle, Yarrow and Shepherd’s Purse can be taken as tea. It is harder to purposefully delay menstruation than it is to induce it. Reduce your intake of aspirin, caffeine, salt, red meat, and estrogen when you are trying to achieve this." source
I was in Canada for a while and most people there told me that. I have never tried it before so I'm not really sure of the effectiveness.
Using the keyword: parsley and menstruation on Google, I managed to get some stuff that might be helpful.

I find the first answer quite helpful too
I tried before injecting hormones into my body to delay my menstruation from coming. U need to inject at least 5 days before your estimated menstruation period.
I don't really recommend u to do so since your next month menstruation might be even more pain and irregular.
Is it possible of instead delaying the menses, make it come earlier instead?? And if let it come earlier, will there be side effect??
I have tried to delay my menses before, but have not heard of letting it come earlier. Maybe you can try drinking watermelon juice or grassjelly as its cooling stuff. Sometimes when i drink too much of all these, my menses will come afew days earlier. If not you can try pineapple juice too.
i took the pills from the doctor as i have missed my menses by 5 days, its meant to make it come. he gave me pills for 5 days (x2 times a day). its been 3 days after my medication, but it hasnt come yet. help!
my menses come v short..
like first day, heavy flow..
2nd day, light flow...
3rd day, like no more flow @@
is this normal?
also take Norethisterone but you have to take it way earlier. at least 10 days (or longer will be better) + (assuming) 5 days of your menses before your travel date i.e. if your travelling on 30 Dec, you have to take it by/before 15 Dec for it to be effective.
once you cease consumption, your period should come soon.
for those wondering, it costs $11 for 20 tablets and that will last 10 days.
same here - 1st day light, 2nd day normal, 3rd day light.
as far as im concerned, we're normal so long as it makes its monthly visit. and we dont have to spend as much as others on sanitary pads tooin fact, panty liners are safe enough (and more comfortable too) for me on the light days...
It is very troublesome when menses comes during a trip, but i'm also worried abt the side effects of such medications.
