I think those from Horse brand or dragon brand should be quite good, all reputable brands. There should be some branches in town and near raffles place/boat quay areas.

For herbs and chinese tonics, I get my supply from Eu Yang Yang. Expensive chinese tonics and herbs (bird's nest, ginseng, cordyceps, etc) are usually graded if they are above a certain grade. For the more easily affordable ones that are not graded (eg, a box of bottled bird's nest or ginseng powder), the quality can differ greatly between different brands. I personally feel that Eu Yang Sang's product quality especially for the ungraded herbs are much better than other brands. Horse brand ranks second, Dragon brand last on the list. Even their cheapest herbs are much better in quality than other brand's cheapest herbs. But EYS's products are usually priced a little more even though the quality difference makes it all worthwhile.

i also think Eu Yang Yang is good
just a little tips when taking birdnest, best way to have the effect is to take a spoon eveymorning that is the best, is pointless to have a big bowl every weeks....that way is not only effective also cheap

Yes! You must get clean ones.. If not you'll have a hard time trying to pick out the dirt!
My mum always buys bird's nest from a medical hall.. She doesn't trust others because there are fake ones around..

You can get those that are picked. These are normally more expensive. Anyone tried the "Xue Yan"??

*blooded bird-nest (sounds crude but I can't think of a better way to say this)

me me!!! i've tried "xue yan" before. itz very expensive, as itz considered as one of the high grade bird's nest.

one way to confirm if the bird nest is good or not, that is, the birdnest should still hold as one piece even if you've double-boiled it for a few hours. If the birdnest sort of "melted" in the process of double-boiling, then either itz of poor quality or itz not authentic at all.

there are imitation bird's nest out there, so be careful with your selection.
