    camistree:

I believe I'm the only one who has posted about my ICL experience with Dr. Leonard Ang in this thread, so I felt necessary to clear the air. If you've read my comments carefully, I didn't exactly gave a rave review. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding or my intention wasn't clear :x I was trying my best to write about my experience regarding the ICL from a POV that disregard choice of clinics/doctors.

Now, regarding my opinion after having gone through all the various doctors, I have to agree with you on that. I didn't like his attitude either, you were spot on regarding the answering questions part. I was actually very glad everything turned out well and I don't have to deal with him anymore. In fact, after the 2nd evaluation, I gave the 3rd evaluation a miss as I felt it was a waste of money.

I'm just glad that my eyes turned out well, and I have to say my surgery was a success. Night vision (bright lights with dark ambience) is still quite annoying as there are flares which obscure my vision.

My friend who wanted to go for LASIK, I brought her down to shinagawa instead as I felt the service there was much better. The male doctor (forgot his name already, but there're only two docs there 1 male 1 female) there was not only patient with my questions when I was there for LASIK evaluation prior to my decision to do ICL, he gave alot of advices and showed genuine concern for my health.

If I have to put it objectively, I feel more at home at Shinagawa whereas at Dr. Leonard Ang's, I felt more everything is very commercialised.. like fast food checkout.

Default My boy was born on thw day you had your ICL!!! :)

Hi My Boy was born on the date you did your ICL. i'm thinking of doing it but i'm still nursing... Dr Cheryl Lee nurse told it's ok for me to be still nursing if i want to do ICL... Still considering...

I admit I didn't do enough research on the various doctors that offers ICL in Singapore. Mine was done by Dr. Leonard Ang.

I would regret it (not doing enough research) but thankfully it was complication free and I had 6/5 vision the very next day of surgery, and 6/6 right now... it's still in the recovery period right now so we'll see how it stabilizes as time goes.

The whole procedure cost me approximately $10k. I went ahead without looking at other doctors because of the sheer number of patients that Dr. Ang has seen and he claims that there so far has been zero complications, although he put the risk assessment as 96% success. I took the risk and thankfully everything went well so far.

If I had known about Dr. Cheryl Lee, I would definitely get a second opinion from her and then decide which doctor I feel more comfortable in. Since I've to pay so much, and it's my eyes we're talking about... caution is everything.

If you're considering between LASIK and ICL, it's a no-brainer. To me, the pros of ICL far outweighs both the pros and cons of LASIK. The major cons of ICL is:

    1. Very expensive - LASIK with the most expensive options typically cost about $3-4k for both eyes, cheaper options are available. ICL cost me total $10k.

    2. Earlier catracts - It was transpired that everyone will develop catracts when they get old, it's a matter of whether you live to that age when it happens. With ICL, I'm looking at an earlier of (the doctor said 'a few years' but I'm thinking more of) 5-10 years?

It was not an easy decision to make, right now I am very happy. And I hope in time to come, I will not regret my decision *touch wood*

Hope my input and experience help you to make a good decision too. Cheers!
