    Hi PeonyDreamz,

Yes, have been taking Diane-35 on and off for 10 years ****...on and off meaning that i took Diane-35 for 3-6 months then stop for 1 month...

Yes, is true that i have to take the Diane-35 to regulate my menses, if i dont take then my period very "weird" in the sense that it is spotting continuosly...last time i was very depressed over it, but now i have already "ma-mu" ****....have to use pantiliner ***...

btw, yasmin and diane-35 are from the same company - Schering. The reason i took diane and not yasmin is because i used to have severe acne...

now i have stopped taking diane-35 ****...because i feel very sick taking the small little pills.

i think is important that you take care of your diet too. I realised that my menses is "normal" (once or twice a year) when i take multi-vitamin and drink lots of soyabean drink le. Not sure the correlation here though

Hmm as for putting on weight issue, I am on the heavier side too. But my gynae says that PCOS girls usually put on weight very easily. And she did advises me that I should cut down on the weight, chances is that menses can be regulated again.

I have PCO and my last menses was in Sept 07 after taking diane35
I'm trying for a baby and went to try out TCM but the herbs gave me bad headache every single day! my biological clock is ticking away .. arrgh!

P/s: I had my blood tested and confirmed hormonal imbalanced, had my ovaries scanned and yes, congested with tiny follicles which never gets matured enough to begin ovulation ..

mmm, i am thin all the time....but still have the menses problem. the only one time that i got fatter (4-5kgs gain) while taking the diane-35 is during the first year, however it never increase since then.

I think it varies for individual.

Saw another thread that taking spirulina helps to regulate...anyone tried that before?

I didnt took any blood test too, my gynae could tell from the scan.

How does Diane35 helps for PCOS?

TCM could help to regulate menses, well, at least it did for me.

Kye, for follicles which never gets matured enough to begin ovulation, usually gynae should prescribe clomid to u and that helps follicles to grow to a mature size. But whether the eggs come out from follicle or not, is another thing. This can be assisted with a jab

hi covet77, where is this dr shelia from? your friend is also one with PCO?
i have been recommended another from TMC .. i'm supposed to see her this week but yet to make appointment. . that reminds me .. hmmm

hi jemay, I tried clomid the last time round but it didnt work. so i took jabs. i cant recall the name but one cycle = 6 jabs daily. instead of encouraging a few big eggs (from the numberous follicles), my idiotic body produces more small follicles. the entire ovaries were congested with tiny tiny ones!! and then i took another jab to "clear" the eggs and then begin another cycle of 6 jabs but same result so i stopped. very tiring because i have to go to the clinic everyday for a week. 2nd time round, i took the medication to a gp and have her do for me .. imagine the costs ..

and what jab is it that can help ovulate?? is it a one off jab/month or a series like mine??

diane35 helps to have menses-like blood every 28days but that cannot be considered as menstration? i'm not sure but my skin goes crazy with acne if i dont have menses for too long .. and diane35 helps me in that context.

i'm thinking, once we go off the bcp, won't menses become irregular again?

jemay: u didn't get the blood test done, but it was surely pcos?

I tried the bai fong wan. it delayed my menses for two whole months before coming!

I think once off BCP back to square one, that's why I may not opt for BCP. But may switch over to TCM.

which TCM is good in this area? Any recommendations?

i tried TCM but ended up with headache 5 days straight. there is one opposite abc market which is quite famous. he comes in at 10am but patients start queuing at 9.15am. when i was there at 9.30am, i was 6th and by 10.am, there were ~ 20. Two of my colleagues see him for other health issues and am happy with him. herbs are at $7.50/packet and consultantion is up to individual to give.
