    Default Cervical Cancer Vaccine

    Hi Ladies,

Was just wondering how many have gone for these shots? There are currently two types available in Singapore, Gardasil and Cervirix.

Am considering taking it soon... Just wanted to find out how many ladies have taken it and any advice.

    Please feel free to discuss!

**Mods: I tried doing a search, didnt come up with anything. If there is a similar thread, please kindly merge them.. Many thanks!**

i was at my doctor on wed due to tummy flu, saw the advertisement on this topic.

i did ask the nurse, she mentioned it's meant for girls from 9 to 28 years old, vaccine should be taken ideally before they become sexually active. there are 3 jabs, one jab is $198 each. if the women are sexually active, can also benefit from the vaccine.

i did ask her for the side effects and the duration period of the vaccines, she said she will find out as they just got the vaccine.

i am gg to pay for my daughter to take the vaccine

will update once i have the information.

i went for my healthy check several mths ago.. the doctor advised me to get the vaccine.. they offered me a package of 3 jabs for $570.. upon the 1st jab, you take your 2nd jab durin the 2mth, and the 3rd jab at the 6th month.

it is the most potent when you are still a virgin.. however, it still gives protection even though you are no longer one..

i did some of my own research to this vaccine.. there were cases of ppl falling ill after the vaccines altho it is not clearly known whether it is related to the vaccine.. but as a precaution, im not gonna take the jab until i deemed it safe..

I asked my friend who is a pharmacist, she says actually, it dosent matter what age you are. You can still take the jabs just that studies were done with ladies within that age gap... Ya ya.. i think should ask your daughter to go.. prevention better than cure...!

Which one did you pick? Gardasil or Cervirix? How much did you pay? Is it $200/jab?

I had gotten my first jab of Gardasil because Im on birth control pills (for acne) and longterm (more than 5-7 years) will increase risk of cervical cancer.

Gardasil helps prevent more strains of virus as compared to Cervirix or something. Did some research before I got my first jab but now memory is a little fuzzy.'

I paid $180 at my regular GP
