Dewy, this is creepy!I was *just* about to post the same question here at CozyCot. I'm having a stiff neck and an aching shoulder blade (left shoulder). I think it's caused by reading and bad posture.

Hi all, i also had stiff shoulder and neck problem too, went for tui -na, accupuncture too.... i think accupuncture is more effective than tui -na...maybe u can try can...and also exercise is important too...esp swimming...and maybe exercise your shoulder often..it helps...:
i heard Shen Nong at holland V very good for this but also very painful. was recommended by a few different people who have tried it and they all swear by it! have been wanting to go try it out myself but it's just too far away for me.
one other method i've tried that is pretty good (and painless) it to use Eleki Ban. it is this japanese magnetic studs that you can paste in the painful spot. something to about the magnetic field helps the knots to disspate? can try, can get from some guardian pharmacies and some chinese medicine halls also have.
hi dinga
where did u go for treatment and roughly how much it costs?
hi crystal
how much roughly is each time?
hi dewy, i went to eu ren sheng for treatment.....but it is quite exp so now...i do shoulder exercise everyday.....![]()
i use to go for traditional massage and doctors for medication, but the effects are not lasting at all. but i found a cure in arthritis treatment from naturalisproducts.com . very good and heating treatment , helps relief pain in neck and shoulders. then again, taking special care of the body posture and resting is just as important.
Hi Dewy, I am also having stiff shoulder and neck. Think this problem with me for a loong time. This problem seriously affected so much that there was once I even consulted a specialist in TTS Orthopaedic department. Had even undergo the pysico-therpy before.
Before that, I am a frequent visiter to those chinese physican massage places. It did not help much. Like mentioned by other cotters, I had also encountered 'painful' experenice during/after the massage session.
I realised none of them seem to work for me, after going through all the chinese and english consultations.
Eventually, I opt for exercise and it works!~
Another point might be your standing/sitting/sleeping posture.
Or perhaps the old pillow/mattress which require replacement?
If no time for exercise/massage session, you may wish to purchase those hot/cold pack for your neck and shoulders.
Can gte them from Guardian pharmacy. Just need to heat the pack and place on your shoulders. The warming should be able to ease your pain temporary. Hope it helps!~

advice become scam??????? kudos to dewy????? since you don't believe, why bother to ask??? have you give the person benefit of doubt that he/she really sincere to help you????
hi tryne
no offence here but i am quite sure Meows is the same person in another forum who has been trying way too hard to advertise their products to the extent of spamming.
not that i dont believe sweetie, but dont u feel the more a person tries to promote their products the more u begin to suspect the credibility of that person's words.
if its purely advice i will appreciate and listen but i dont think Meows is advising me. Whatever problem we have she/he/they kept promoting this brand.
this thing has been going on sometime ago in 3 forums i have surfed so far. it is only till now i cannot hold it any longer.![]()

Hi,
I suffer the same problem too. Too much desk work and less exercises..morever now busy revising for exam at night..thus, become lazy..
my way: i tried those community gym, and tried working out using the chest workout. Er, have to lie down on a bench, and there are two handles for your arms to be place and push towards your chest. I use light weight resistance, about..14kg..(i am not much strength although i am big size), done 10reps. SLOWLY. then stop. Hmm..although this exercise station helps guys to build their chest breath, but for me, i can feel my shoulder tight muscles start to "click"..means loosen up. I combine it with 2 exercise stations..dont know the name..but the movement is, you have to lift up the handles at your shoulder level. I took minimum weight kg, consider i am bo *** xian (no strength)...the last one is the push forward handles at your chest level.
Keep the movement slow, light weight resistance and 15reps ok ****. Should able to feel the aching part in your shoulders as though went for massage.![]()
2nd way: my fave,is whole body massage which i would frequent @ teban area. It is those acupressure massage. Boy, do feel the painfulness and the ache, but after that..it is heaven.=)
the massuer are china gals and are specialists in this. They studied medicine or something. Rates are cheap. 1hr + abt $30+
hehe..
hope above helps!![]()
Recently suffered a stiff neck and was mc for a day....when i woke up can't really move my neck and it hurts...doc says i sit in front of pc for too long and strain myself.....haven't been going for my pilates too...think that's why got stiff neck and shoulders....
using the mouse too long will also affect the shoulders so try to do some simple stretching exercise to loosen the pressure on the shoulders...![]()
hi wheekwheek
do u have the contact number and address of the massage place in teban? how do i get there? thanks!
