Ladies, I've always faced shoulder aches problems but recently it seemed to have gotten worse. I've been waking up to bad shoulders and neck aches daily. I suspect it has something to do with my pillow. Which type of pillow is suitable for neck/shoulders support? Foam/harder or those soft pillow? The pillow I'm on now feels too soft. Actually I'm not a fan of hard pillows but if it will help my shoulders and neck aches, I'll give it a try..
Hmmm.. I do think to a certain extent the shoulder neck pain are caused by our pillows.. but so far even changing pillows also no use.. U all can try the umama warm from osim if u got the budget.. In fact its actually pretty affordable I find it to be.. So far I've been using it for about 1 month.. And I do enjoy its massage and the warmth function!
Can recommend it to anyone who has back aches or shoulder/neck aches![]()
i tried the panaflex and it's actually quite good.
worth trying i supposed. saw that they have promotion now for their patches. buy 2 boxes and get 1 free. can share with your friends if they want to try it out. that's what i did.
i have been going for back massages lately on top of the waist tonic that i drink daily. the massage can be quite pain at times. i dont know why do i go along with it. haha.
Yes I totally agree that back aches can be such a painful process to go through.. Sometimes it may be due to lack of sleep or posture. But at times, we just do not know what is wrong!
my upper back pain is killing me as well. i went to the doc, but bet its all becoz of my sleeping position is wrong, and thats why... but...i just cant control my body while sleeping, rite?!...![]()
maybe you wanna try those pillow with neck support? i'm not really sure what is the correct term to call it, but it "sinks" in the middle and doesnt seem to get out of shape. takes sometime to get used to it tho.
maybe look for people to relief the pain visiting TCM..
i am facing shoulder and neck aches from the hours in front of the computer. Tried massage, sinseh (tui-nah) and now i am seeing a chiropractor. After a few sessions, it helps as it also correct your posture. important thing is also to do short stretches while at work.
hope this helps!
I always use counterpain (cream) / salonpas (plaster) to ease d aches, which are not chronic backaches.
Regular shoulder and neck pain esp after waking up sounds like a case of 落枕。 here's a pretty good writeup abt it, and solutions are offered: 落枕_互动百科
In chinese thoughand i'm not too sure what the English term for 落枕 is, heh.
came across this discussion and thought that I should try to put some light on how to get the best treatment for condition of neck/back/shoulder pain.
most people will go to a GP when they are in pain and most of the times, they will be given pain killers, muscle relaxant or anti-inflammatories. After taking the medicine, most of the time, the pain goes away. But this doesn't cure the cause of it. Because as the saying goes, you are only taking the effect away but not the root cause of the problem.
I am speaking from experience because I suffered from slipped disc 5 years ago, went to chinese doctor, had acupuncture, didnt work. went to a GP, had pain killers, didn't work and was eventually given an injection. That injection lasted me 3 years and the pain came back DOUBLE!!
Telling myself not to take medication, did some research and chanced upon chiropractic. went for consultation, took their suggested treatment and today, I am able to regain 80% of my back movement and even starting to go gym.
I would definitely suggest going to a chiropractor for consultation to find out how they can help you before anything else.
How much will a chiropractor session cost?
Did yours come in package, did it help?
Any place reccomended?![]()
From what i know, there are different costing for different chiropractors. Some have per session payment and most have package price which works out to be more cost effective. The one that i go to is $75 per session and with package is cheaper.
my package with them definitely helps cos i am hitting the gym at least twice a week now!it's nice to be able to exercise again! haha...and of cos looking good :p
my suggestion is to go somewhere that is convenient for you, either near your workplace or home and since i stay in the east, i go to the one at Tampines. I think they have another branch at HarbourFront as well.
Ladies,
I had neck, shoulder and back pains for many years. I consulted orthopedic doctor, had x-ray taken and couldn't find anything wrong. I adjusted my computer screen, keyboard and used a foot-stool to prop my posture but all to no avail.
To manage the condition, I take pain-killers and go for weekly physioptherapy session. Physiotherapy helps to reduce the pain a little but it is costly as $90 per week.
I don't like to exercise and will avoid at all cost. But 6 months ago, my friend gave me a birthday present for Pilates lessons. After 3 or 4 lessons, I realized I no longer have any pain. What happened was that Pilate had strengthened my neck and back and also improved my posture. Bad posture will aggravate back pains. I have not gone for physiotherapy or took any pain-killers for many months now, So glad that I am pain-free at last.
anyone needs recommendation for physiotherapy can PM mei have a good one to recommend
