All 4 of my wisdom tooth are out but fortunately for me they are growing straight so I don't need to pull them out.......yet. hee!

i have procrastinated long enough. Finally made an appointment to extract the final wisdom tooth next month after all the nagging from my orthodontist.

This is gonna be a complicated procedure because the tooth is half-impacted in an awkward position. i'm soooo not longing forward to it

keiko, hope it all goes well! & while u are resting @ home after the op, u can buy more stuff online to take all the pain away!

seriously, doing it sooner would avoid more complications, if any & pain!

All my wisdom teeth have grown slanted, 90 degrees, well hidden underneath my gum. Saw them on my x-ray but dentist didn't want to extract them since there's no pain or discomfort for me. Weird.

Thinking wouldn't these hidden wisdom teeth rot without my knowledge?

I never thought of removing my wisdom teeth. I was at the dentist very recently and he asked me to be aware of those two teeth.

I am not unaware of them. In fact, I always bite the corner of my mouth, even when I sleep (oooouch ) but I'm too scardy-cat to go pluck them out. I'll bear with the occasional bites.

yay! u go girl! be brave and be prepared for the discomfort that the braces will cause u. I was mentally prepared for the worst kind of pain so in the end it didn't seem as bad. But it's all worth it!

Thanks for the advice I know what I'm in for My dentist actually commented that I'm quite a brave gal. Didn't even wince when I was doing a surgey to remove my bottom left wisdom tooth that was embedded in my gum. Howver she didn't know the hell I went through for the next few days. Had to cry myself to sleep...

My younger sis was contemplating to have braces on but after seeing the ordeal I went through, she's having second thoughts. Then again, she's only a teenager.

yes.....younger people tend to be less prepared for the pain. i wore my braces at a ripe old age together with my 13 year old cousin and my aunt had to call me every now and then to check if i was suffering the same way as she did. She was not able to handle the pain and discomfort. perhaps your sis can do it together with u so that there's someone to encourage her along the way.

If she ever decides to go for it, I hope she sticks to her decision. You know how young people are nowdays, they tend to give up easily. :| :| I rather she waits till she's older to make that decison.
