I heard from several of my pals that u can get only limited supply from the local GPs in SG
anyway...how fast to u see yourself putting on weight after consuming contraceptives

demi, in comparison to what babyflite mentioned, my weight only increased by 1 kg, and I doubt the increased in weight was due to the pills, it probably due to my gluttonous appetite!Originally posted by demigoddess1512

However, when I'm not on pills, I get very bad mood swings. Like what babyflite says, different pills have different effects on different people.
demi, you currently on Yasmin is it? Any side effects on you? I'm thinking if I should switch and see if there's any difference.
gin_c_2000,
Yes i am currently on Yasmine.
My skin was reddish and spotty before i started on Yasmine, After taking it..its improve it quite a bit. NOw Pretty Pretty again![]()
No side effects atm because as stilafaux suggestion i take the pills before i sleep![]()
Just that i am feeling fat lately and i'm wondering if its the effect of the pill or its just me![]()
using yasmin... cost me 21.60 for a mth's supply![]()
chocolatemousse, u got your supply from Guardian??
I got my supply from BKK at SGD$18 per pack.![]()
always get them from my gynae...
I'm pretty sure you can get contraceptive pills from the GP as well although they might usually only write you prescription for 6 months each time.
It's always more expensive to buy the pills from your gynae or GP. If you want to save money, ask for a prescription and buy from the pharmacy instead.
think i will start doing that..It shall spare me the trip from going all the way down for my pills.... *pout*
Anyone tried the patch thingy yet? Seems like no reveiws on it???
Quite skeptical about using the patch, in case it gets lost.
worse still instead of being stuck on you, gets stuck on your SO![]()
Pill IMO, still safer
chocolatemousse,
If u got to BKK, go get your supply from the pharmacy there. No need for prescription. You can just get it over the counters and
DEFiNATELY MUCH MUCH CHEAPER![]()

tricia_kw, welcome to cozycot!
from your post, I have a slight problem reading it but I think I get what you are trying to say. It would be nice to edit it so that most of the cotters here can understand what you are talking about?
From what i understand from your post,
Was it your first time taking the birth control jab?
I have heard that it would be good to still practise the use of condoms and such during your first month of trying out birth contraceptives as the body is trying to adapt and hence the birth contraceptive might not be as effective as yet.
It might be good to go back to your gynae for a check up to reconfirm?![]()
Babes, it is not not advisable to take contraceptive pills unless really in need...Guess everyone knows that...Fyi, I know of someone who developed PE(pulmonary embolism) and eventually DVT(Deep Vein Thrombosis) as she took contraceptive pills for 9 years!!! She is now on long term anticoagulants...I'm not trying to scare anyone, just a caution reminder..![]()
My gynae refused to let me take cos I have like lumpy (!!) boobs. The lumps are nothing of concern, just muscles/fats/tissues but I cant be on the pill cos of that. Apparently they aggravate the condition and make the lumps grow huge! So before you get the pills go do a pap smear or at least a basic checkup first![]()
