I just realised how skinny and unhealthy I look.
a combination of lack of exercise, bad diet and stress has resulted in me losing A LOT of weight in the past year.
almost 8kg at one point in time although I have put a little back on![]()
can anyone suggest some ways to put on weight in a healthy way?
I am VERY picky when it comes to food![]()
but do give me some ideas!
xue, you prob need to listen up as well!
HJ, I wish I could lose weight like you. I gain weight faster than I meowwww...
I gain weight in an unhealthy way...lots of chocolates and desserts and it doesn't help that I have a sweet tooth plus the higher my stress the more I eat...So can't help you here...
Actually you don't look at all unhealthy to me. Suggest that you go to gym to build up some muscles?
I know exactly how you feel meow. i've got an obsessively sweet tooth (sometimes i skip the main course in favour of dessert) and i crave chocs and sweets instead of the salty stuff. very bad.
hj, i know how......reverse liposuction! i volunteer to donate my fats!
seriously though....
just keep to your normal meals and DON'T skip any. meat and carbs meat and carbs!
gym will help too cos muscle weighs more than fats.

lucky girl!![]()
try the gym (to build up muscles) do more weights instead of cardio (but don't neglect cardio though) and eat more often.. bf takes mass gainer (available at GNC)
lucky girl...i have to strain at the gym's machines like a gerbil on speed before i even lose 500gm!
um do you remember recently how much bigger Ms Christina Aguilera got? apparently she carbo-loaded to get herself ready for some tour with Justin Timberlake
just up your carbs girl and watch the weight pile on
thanks for the tips girls. looks like it's the gym for me. :wheee: and I need some sun too!
dont envy me girls. you girls look great and HEALTHY. that's most important! I want my old chubby face back!!![]()
My tip is to stay overseas! i used to be a skinny 45kg (171cm tall) and now i'm much much healthier, 53kg.
Well, u should really load on alot of carbs, but beware that carbs then to accumulate fats in ur thigh and tummy area, NOT SEXY!![]()
I know this is not going to help since u mentioned healthy food...
I've been downing tubs and tubs of Ben and Jerry, Movenpick and Haagen Das every night...I even finished one tub of Strawberry Cheesecake in one go...
Went for facial today...my facialist said that my face looked rounder :sotong:
Strangely, I looked healthier when I was working then...now with my lifestyle of sleeping late...I can't seem to put on weight.
HJ, u know your thread is going to make how many gals here envy u????????![]()
Hee...Agreeing with jemay...
Anyway, perhaps you can add more carbo food into your meals? Heard it's suppose to help one gain weight... but eventually still have to work out to tone it...
I was quite slim last time and was suggested to put on weight by taking more carbo food plus choc etc by a trainer when i used to go to gym in the past...
Presently, think i'm over-eaten my rubbish plus carbo stuff (can't seem to stop eating nowadays... sad...) and is quite far from the former slimmer me. :roll:Plus i don't really exercise now... Hope to get a little slimmer...

Lucky girl!!!! I wish I had your problem. I've been putting weight on steadily for the past few years and it ain't pretty.
Would second what everyone else says. Eat normal meals and lift weights because muscle weighs more than fat.
And eat supper! I find that weight tends to go on more when you eat late at night.
You lucky gal!! I wish I have your problem too but I'm the opposite..Need to lose weight..Going to the gym really helps! Tone up all your muscles!

one word... SUPPER...i have quite a high metabolic rate as well, but i reckon that exercise helps tone and strengthen one's muscles, and make one look good as well...
and for the people who need to lose weight.... here's my suggestion. exercise before breakfast. then have a really good breakfast. take your coffee breaks and your tea breaks...sound like a dietician's nightmare? not really... when you have coffee/tea breaks, snack on fruits like bananas and apples. you keep your blood sugar level up, and tend to feel less hungry during lunch and dinner. as a result, you naturally eat less.
exercising before breakfast, i realized results in one's metabolic rate increased for much of the day. a quick run up or down the stairs before lunch/dinner helps to keep the energy level high. tea breaks ensure your body will always have something to burn (good break too) you're more awake, and need less tidbits to keep awake during those boring hours at work.
one more thing for people who wanna lose weight... sleep early, this really helps to lose weight... sleep early, less tendancy for supper?keep your metabolic rate high, and you'll burn fat, even when you're not doing anything at all...
simple enough advice??![]()
try having supper or late dinners.
but do exercise at the same time to be healthy too.
i gain weight when i binge on cookies (most probably due to the butter and all) but not when i binge on chocolates.
you might want to start reading/watching TV while downing oreo cookies or chips ohoy.

my sis is now drinking milk more often to get a healthy glow and add some weight.
that's a good one too.
My advice:
Don't change anything. Weight gain comes with age. Starting to do more exercise is also good.
Anyway, it's not a bad thing that you look thin. The bad thing is that you look F-R-A-I-L.
More chicken essence for you, Ms Bus Driver......![]()
